Dr. Mark Scheier, MD

We have had Dr. Scheier as our Pediatrician our Family Dr., our emergency doctor, our our Gyno and Primary care doctor and our most respected confidante since 1989! Dr. Mark Scheier has been a dedicated professional who not only holds his patients health as a primary regard but who holds his own standards for integrity professional conduct and good old fashioned real family doctor who will himself, contact you if he is concerned about your illness. Dr Scheier is very thorough giving each patient his undivided attention, he makes eye contact and really listens. If he determines you are in need of aggressive medical intervention lab work x-rays or the Emergency Room for immediate medical attention he doesn`t wait until your follow up appt or prescribe tons of medicines and tests you dont need just to soak your insurance company. He never hesitates to share his concerns He is very honest and listens which is a rare quality from any doctor. If he is worried about you he has been known to… call you to see how you are feeling. We called his office emergency number after hours when our baby who he had been treating became even sicker. He called us back, he was at the Superbowl, he gave us instructions that were the same, I started to cry said thank you and we said goodbye. He called me back within 10 minutes with specific new instructions and a new medication his intuitions told him something wasnt right. 6 kids later and I am crying, he knew how bad off she was, called me back DURING THE SUPERBOWL HE WAS ATTENDING!!! Our kids now from 36 to 17 love him and love Monica and say Monica the office support beam my kids say looks exactly as beautiful and young as they remember her back when they were babies.She is very classy and professional soft spoken and looks like a movie star. Lisa is a beautiful bright eyed big smiling happy sweet funny real mom and a very thorough nurse gathering vitals and reason for visit as well as a memory like a computer, remembers your last conversations very friendly and compassionate professional. Jason is the computer records and insurance guy and is very very sweet and professional, teases everyone and makes the waiting room laugh. well the entire staff Dr Scheier we love them all. We have treasured Dr Scheiers calm wisdom, his listening to you, looking at you while you are talking and he is speaking to you, he is very soothing to someone nervous, he speaks softly and is very sensitive and perceptive. Fantastic sense of humor, if your teen has a cut and they ask if it needs stiches he will most likely say oh no how terrible this might call for drastic measures how attached are you to your finger, it might be ready to fall off , lets see, he may pick up that finger to reinspect while saying well i guess u must be pretty attached its not fallen off yet. Compassionate professional thorough great eye contact superb listening skills and communication skills. Very soothing great dry wit highly skilled professional office staff and everyone remembers your name and face. Like family. We even drive out of our area and changed insurance just to keep Dr as our primary care guy and office.

Dr.Mark Scheier, Has been my family Doctor for over 15yrs I have Asthma bad, He is also my Family Members Doctor. When my Dad had Brain Cancer, I talked to Dr.Scheier about his Options. He listened and made great Recommendations. Everytime I have been In the hospital he was Faithful coming And sending the right Specialist.

My experience has only been positive with Dr. Scheier and his staff. He has been my doctor for over 2 years. He takes time to listen and ask questions. I love his staff. Always friendly and helpful. I'm surprised at any negative reviews. I have only positive comments to share!

If you simply talk with him openly and HONESTLY about your issues and take what you’re given as prescribed then you’ll see that he’s the nicest guy. A real family man. He cares about his patients!!

I'm really surprised at some of the comments here. I met Dr. Scheier i 1992 when I was pregnant with my first son. He became my Dr. and delivered all 3. My first two were induced and he slept at the hospital since my labor took 25 hrs. he kept a close eye. He did everything from remove warts to circumcision on my two sons. Helped me witb whatever medical needs we all had. I recently ran into him aboyt a year ago, i live in nm now. My grandfather was in the hospital and he was kind and caring. I wish he was still my Dr. As far as smiling, i remember him always smi,ing during visits, laughing too. Maybe it just depends why you're there. i wouldnt want a smiling Dr. telling me seroius things......

Bad doctor. Never smiles and never makes eye contact with his patients. Most of the time he looks like he is mad. He often prescribes the wrong medications. Once he prescribed antibiotics for my cold which made me much sicker instead of curing me. I was feeling sicker and rotten for a whole month after that. His front staff is so rude, unprofessional and extremely incompetent. Specially Monica who is always mad, starts gossiping and laughing about you together with the other guy that makes your appointments. She acts like she is the owner of the place and makes you feel that she is making you a big favor. When I complaint about his staff, the doctor sided with them instead of telling me that he will talk to them and would take care of the problem. So I decided to switch doctors. My recommendation to anyone looking for a good doctor is to stay away from this office and if you are already there RUN!

I've never met a doctor as disinterested as Dr. Scheier. He couldn't care less about my health. The only thing he is good for is writing prescriptions. As far as his office staff is concerned, they're alright, except Monica, who is rude, uncaring, and utterly incompetent. She's an expert at giving you the run-around though, I'll give her that. Won't be going there again.

My wife and I had the worse experience possible. He and his staff were good in the begging but started showing their lazy non caring colors after the second visit. His staff lies, argues with you, raises their voice when the doctors not around, hardly answers their phone and nosey in your personal business... this doctor chooses to believe his staff (which they blame the doctor when hes not around for the oversight on his medical notes) over his patient complaints. Great way lose patients who just want solutions and answers.. not difficult time, red tape, run around and drama from his staff especially his office manager. She's terrible and unprofessional. We're going back to our previous doctor (which is a distance )but well worth it in the end. After the few things he. did was not worth the aggravation and frustration in the end. Maybe someday he and his staff he can learn some lessons on being compassionate and understanding. He seems have problems with women too. Payed more… attention to my needs than my wife who is severely disabled and several heath issues. Weired..and with his mundane and monotone personality. No thanks. Rather travel further for a great doctor . My advice to anyone thinking about seeing him or just started seeing him is to MOVE ON QUICK! and don't look back. It's just a matter of time.

Staff is a bit rude and late to answer phone calls during office hours. Dr. Scheier is a bit rude as well, but he gets the job done. If you can, find another Physician.

My dad was at La Palma Hospital for five days after a stroke. Dr. Scheirer made no contact until the end of day two when I called his cell phone and begged for the results of an MRI. I had cancer last year, so I have worked with a lot of great doctors and, without exaggeration, he had the worst bedside manner of any doctor I have ever talked with. We asked for his professional opinion, or advice, or some inkling of a medical assessment but he wouldn't make eye contact and he dodged questions and avoided speaking with us. He literally shrugged his shoulders multiple times. These were basic 101 questions that any doctor encounters daily. But this doctor's advice was basically, figure it out yourself and let me know what you want to do. After day 4 (!), when he finally took the time to meet my mother - he looked at her and said, "Are you the wife?" She said, "Yes" and he walked away. No update, no empathy, no sense he cared in the least bit. And this guy is a chief doctor there. … Note, some of the nurses were wonderful. Really great on trying to help and they clearly knew how lame this doctor was at communicating because of few of them apologized. Avoid him at all costs.
