Ive gone to Dr Shapiro for years. I agree with other posters about his thoroughness which Id rather have an exam take longer but spend the time with his patients then rushing me put the door. Ive tried other drs after my medical plan changed as well but just havent been satisfied with the quality of services and ultimately came back. Half these other drs you never get to see they just send in their PAs. Nothing wrong with a PA but my thought is each dr ought to spend SOME time getting to know their patients. Dr Shapiro does work a lot with medical students so that can extend the exam time as well just be aware of that.

Just has to learn to respect patients time

Dr. Shapiro is excellent, but the operations side of the house is a mess. There seems to be no effort made to minimize wait time both in the waiting room in the examination room. A routine doctors visit should not take over and hour. 30-45 minutes in the waiting room then another15 to 30 mins the examination room. This is the case 9 out of ten times. Its always the same excuse. There are 2 to 3 people in front of you and they are taking longer than expected. From an operations perspective, they need to leverage the data they are collecting on patients to better estimate the examination time and avoid overbooking. I have had it and looking to switch doctors.
