Dr. Mark Rohan Spence, MD

My pediatrician recommended Dr.Spence for my sons circumcision...I called the doctors office yesterday to book an appointment for the procedure and they gave me the first appointment for today at 8 AM because the doctor was going out of town. I show up to the clinic and the first thing they did was ask for the payment of $360. After being charged I was waiting for the doctor for a over 30 minutes and the front desk came to let me know that he had to deliver a baby exactly at the moment, that it was going to be quick and as soon as he does he’ll come back to perform the surgery on my son. He came back while I went to one of the rooms to change the baby’s diaper. He stepped in the room to let me know he’ll be doing the circumcision within a few minutes. I kept waiting and he never showed... After being there for three hours the front desk came to let me know that because the doctor was leaving out of town he was behind on time and he didn’t have time to do my sons surgery. Nor did he… have the equipment to do the procedure so he’s refunding me my money. I asked why did they make me wait so long if he knew he didn’t have the “equipment” for the surgery making me stay there for 3 hours with a new born ! She said he wasn’t aware that he didn’t have the stuff... I asked when will I get my refund back & I was told today. I checked my account and the refund hasn’t gone through. After literally waiting three whole hours, I left the office at 11 AM. IM SUPER UPSET MY SON IS A MONTH OLD AND WE’RE GOING THROUGH A WHOLE PANDEMIC. MADE ME EXPOSE & RISK HIS HEALTH FOR 3 HOURS IN HIS CLINIC WHICH IS IN A GENERAL HOSPITAL. THIS SURGERY WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A FEW MINUTES...He had other appointments he started taking care of while he had me waiting in the room....So highly disappointed. Very unprofessional, I don’t recommend anyone to go here at all..

Calling the office is HORRIBLE! I have been calling for the past week to schedule an appt.

Dr. Mark Spence is a great doctor, he's a sweetheart and always make sure his patients are happy. I really enjoy going to my doctors appointment. He's very big on eating healthy.

His bedside manner is top quality. He actually listens and pays attention to my concerns

Terrible. Gave me the run around. Unfriendly staff. Never saw the doctor.

Wouldn't trade having Dr. spence as my OB Gyn. He takes his time to answer any question you have . I had no questions or concerns after visiting with him. As long as I live I will always go to him and reccommend him to others

A friend recommended Dr. Spence to me, having used him to deliver a late term miscarriage. She said he was very compassionate and nice. I made an appointment for a well visit for myself (not pregnant) and asked to see Dr. Spence. When I went in for the appointment the waiting room was packed, and they handed me an automate sign in tablet. Then I heard people talking about how long they had been waiting-some had been there for 3 hours already! When I asked the receptionist how long the wait was, she mentioned a different doctor name and said there was only one doctor and 2 rooms and double booked patients. When I said that I had an appointment with Dr. Spence, she said he is never in the office! He is only at the hospital! And that if I didn't want to wait to see the other doctor I would need to come in at 7:30 am. I walked out and will never go back!! I cannot really rate Dr. Spence since I didn't even see him.

Unfortunately Mr. Spence has taken over my Doctors office and ever since the service has dropped. His staff is very unprofessional I called three times in one day & was on hold 8 to 10 minutes every time. Customer Service is just not there anymore which is why it's a ghost town hello!!! There always running around with their heads cut off like a chicken & no one knows anything. I asked them to fax something no one knew how to use the new fax machine. When my Doctor Hechavarria retires so will I .

I have been in south florida for 5 years and seen several different OB/GYN was never really pleased until i was seen by Dr. Spence he is one of few i can say is a very good doctor. It was by pure luck i was sent to his office and he will be my doctor from here on out. GREAT DOCTOR!!!!

Dr. Spence is hands down, "the BEST Ob/Gyn" I have ever seen! I had a complicated pregnancy which saw me admitted to North Shore Medical on best rest under his care for approximately 3 months in 2012. During those three months I had NO reason whatsoever to complain, question or be the least bit concerned about his medical management.I had heard about Dr. Spence from a friend who saw him years before I needed his service. The moment she told me about him I decided If I ever needed an obgyn in Florida I would be going to him. I was residing in Qatar when I got pregnant and was told by my doctor there I was wasting my money as the baby "would drop out". I immediately emailed Dr. Spence (on New Year's Eve) and he responded the following day ... which I wasn't expecting.RESPONSIVEDr. Spence's responsiveness is one of the reasons I hold him in very high esteem. I would just text him my concern and within seconds a nurse would be by my bedside addressing my need because he had called and left… instructions. If he didn't respond to my message a nurse would still be there and I didn't mind as I appreciated he had other patients and would not be able to respond at all times.KEPT ME INFORMEDHe would advise me if he had to be away and remained accessible even when he was overseas. He explained EVERYTHING to me and sought to ensure I understood. He informed me of every procedure to be done, every change in medication and symptoms I should report.EXCELLENT BEDSIDE MANNERApart from his professionalism, his bedside manner is simply EXCELLENT. I felt like I was his only patient whenever he visited and his positive attitude towards the viability of my child who was threatening to enter the world from week 22 was remarkable! (Dr. Spence set small achievable goals for my baby and I from the outset. He doesn't know how much these small goals helped me survive 3 months of bed rest in the hospital. He also saw to it I was comfortable in every way and his staff assisted in ensuring my needs were met.FRANKDr. Spence tends to be a realist and he just tells you as it is. If you are looking for a Doctor to put on blinders for you and misrepresent the facts or mislead you he is NOT the doctor for you. If you are going to be offended by the plain truth ... he is not the doctor for you.I may not have had a baby shower because he forbade it due to my condition at the time, I may have been hospitalised for 3 months but with Dr. Spence's assistance I now have a perfectly healthy, normal baby and I absolutely appreciate EVERYTHING he has done for me.I honestly cannot think of anything bad to say about this Doctor. I would definitely travel from Qatar to be seen by Dr. Spence whenever I need an Obgyn again!!
