Dr. Marleine Ishak, MD

my daughter has been seen by Dr Ishak three times already, each time a dissapointment. She never smiles, she is not friendly at all, the way she explain things is as if the parents are at fault or dont know anything. She does not enjoy her job. She referred my daughter left and right to see other specialists for no reason, changed her inhaler medication 3 times when she didnt need to, as my daughter was not getting worse on her asthma. I wish there were more Pediatric Pulmonary Drs with the group we are in, I would switch in a heartbeat. Trying to extend the appts with her for long periods so we dont have to encounter her.

From the moment I called for an appointment to the moment i stepped into the Dr. clinic which is a day later, every single person I’ve been in contact with there has been invaluable to me. Dr. Marleine was caring in a way that I have not experienced in the healthcare system. She has been concerned, communicative and crucial in a time when I felt very little options. My child was very sick and felt very bad, he had some chest pain and i didn't know what to do to help. I was referred to Dr. Marleine by a friend of mine and i called to take my son for an appointment. She has been amazing, very prompt and responsive. I had blood work done for my son and the results came in. She went over them with me, patiently explained things and answered my questions. She clearly explained the situation for me and had a full inspection to my child going on. she prescribed the exact medicine to be taken and effective results could be seen. By the time i thought that her attention is over. I receive a… call from Dr. Marleine clinic to follow up and check if my child is getting better. All of this is really just not enough to say thank you Dr. Marleine for your help, support and care. I am super glad i got to know you as you have been an actual life-saving Dr.

Where do I begin. The dr prescribed my son a rescue in haler then refused to fill out the necessary paperwork for the school nurse b/c she said my son wouldn't need it b/c she also prescribed flovent. Seriously?!!! a rescue inhaler is a rescue inhaler especially for a child that suffers from asthma. Should we really take that gamble? My son was originally on xopenex which is known to cause less jitteriness and tastes a lot better than proair. Again, she dug her heels in and told me to try proair. Like a fool, I went against my mommy radar and obliged, only to realize after I spent money on this medication that I was right. I told her my hesitations about the medicine. She doesn't listen to parents. She is a know it all that doesn't know anything. I called the office for weeks to ask for the xopenex, which was working beautifully, and everyone dodged my calls. Had to get office manager and clients relations involved. I asked for comparable rescue inhaler, not oxycodon. AND… she is terrible with kids.
