Dr. Marshall James Ney, MD

I saw Dr Ney for the second time in 18 months today and could not have expected a better experience. Epidural injections by their nature are painful, but Dr. Ney takes care to reduce the pain as much as possible. I am 75 years old, and he is one of the best docs I've ever had: smart, caring, professional. I would have no hesitation recommending him to friends and family. In fact, if they were in pain I would strongly urge them to go to Dr. Ney. We need more docs like him.

Warm, kind, had read my chart prior to meeting me. No time spent on computer, talked with me not at me. Scheduled needed MRI and quick return visit.

Dr. Ney has been working with me for over 2 years. I had a Laminectomy and it left me with hip pain that limited walking and shot pain down my leg. He has the ability to explain my care and give me relief. He has made my life enjoyable.

Had an injection with Dr Ney and have absolutely no complaints. He was kind and compassionate and took time to answer my questions. I was so nervous about the whole experience but he talked me through the whole injection. Could not have asked for more!

Simply put he was fantastic. I normally do not write reviews but when someone helps you to walk again without a walker you feel moved to write something. Thank you to Dr Ney and his entire team. You all gave me my life back. Thanks again.

Seemed very rushed when he went over my mri and would not take the time to answer my wife’s questions about medications. He aVoided eye contact and never performed an exam on me. How is he to know what the problem is if he doesn’t touch his patients ? Going to check out blue ridge bone.

I was referred to this wannabe MD by my then primary physician. My appointment with Ney was the worst experience I have had with a doctor. I could have pulled someone from the Ingles cashier line and they would have impersonated a doctor better than this guy. Smirked at me, wouldn't talk, wouldn't listen, didn't do a physical exam, and told me my severe pain was all mental/emotional. Told me this while he was looking at my MRI that showed several nerve impingements. I later had back surgery from a great MD (Dr. David) and am now pain free.

My first visit with this doctor was also my last. After visiting another doctor, now I know just how painless receiving an epidural steroid injection can be. First of all, Dr. Ney did not meet with me to discuss the procedure. Instead, he started shoving papers at me to sign while I was on the table. He did not listen to me when I told him I was not numb. He administered two injections with no slowing down or pause which were about as painful as I could possibly stand. When he finished, he never said anything like, "I'm sorry for your pain" or "I hope you feel better."I left the room in a wheel chair and left the building holding onto my husband's arm. I think he put the needle in my sciatic nerve. I actually felt worse afterwards for three weeks until I went to another doctor who got me numb and administered an injection that was mostly painless. When I looked at reviews of Dr. Ney, he had a 1 and 5 so I thought he must be average. That was not my experience and that is why I felt I… needed to complete this review to warn others. Any doctor can make a mistake, but to not do or say anything to lessen the pain is unforgivable.
