Summary
Dr. Cox spent her childhood in Danville, Virginia. She graduated with honors in Biochemistry from Virginia Tech in 1988. She pursued postgraduate studies in pharmacy prior to entering medical school at East Carolina University School of Medicine, where she was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical society.
She received her pediatric training at University of North Carolina Hospitals and University Health Systems of Eastern Carolina. After practicing in western North Carolina for three years, she returned to Virginia to join Physicians to Children in 2003. She is a Fellow in the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Dr. Cox enjoys painting and the visual arts, hiking, canoeing, and spending time with her husband, Dwayne, and their son.
