Dr. Mary A Blattner, MD

Dr Mary is the most caring, precise and knowledgeable dermatologist I've been cared for by her for over 45 years. I'm happy our family has had her in our area to get out skin problems properly cared for. She's friendly, funny and will answer any questions thoroughly and is very helpful with her suggestions and care. We will miss you Dr. Mary; wishing you a happy retirement and hopefully less back pain and thank you for all your great care. You are one of a kind and can't be replaced. Our family sends you hug of happiness.

Dr. M Blattner is a no nonsense doc. She knows what she's doing and takes care of the reason for the visit quickly. If you need hand holding, probably better choose another, but I find her down to earth attitude refreshing.

Very nice and doesn't make you feel bad about past habits like suntanning!

I had never been to a dermatologist before and was a bit nervous. Dr. Blattner was one of the most friendly doctors I have met. Her staff was awesome and welcoming and she was engaging and concerned. She ddin't hang around very long but she would have if I had more questions - I trusted her and therefore wasn't upset that she continued to another patient. I would recommend Dr. Blattner highly.

i had set up a consultation with dr. blattner for my acne off of a recommendation from a friend. she said "i walked in, she took one look at my face, gave me a prescription that worked and i have never had to go back. my face is clear!" i thought PERFECT!! that is exactly what i need b/c i have been dealing with my Acne for nearly 20 years!so i sat and sat in her office just waiting and reading all of her marathon plaques. she finally came in and sat right down in front of me and started talking. she asked what i was here for and if my skin was dry or oily, she NEVER EVEN LOOKED AT MY SKIN! i wanted to tell her why don't you look and see for yourself!? but i politely told her and she said "well here, at this office, we start you off on this medication and we will go from there. i will give you a years worth of refils and if it works, great! if it doens't work, then you need to call me and come back in and we will go on to the next. obviously I am not going to call YOU to check up and… see how you are doing. i will assume if i don't ever see you again, then it worked." then i told her that i had previously tried that medication and it doesn't work for me. as a matter of fact i have tried everything short of acutane with no success. she she asked "well, what? did you just come in here to get put on acutane then?" i told her no, that i wasn't interested in acutane b/c of all of the side effects i have heard about, irritable bowel syndrome, etc. she said "well believe what you want. i don't agree. so then we will start with what i had originally said." sigh...okay, fine. we will start with the most basic antibiotic: doxicycline. not a mention of other medications to start off with. or recommendations for chemical peels or laser treatments, or topical creams....nothing! i asked her provided this works, which it won't, but provided it does, can she recommend an OTC face wash and sunscreen that i can use that won't irritate my skin. she said "well sunscreens are tricky cuz most of them are greasy, so you have to find one that works for you" well duh!!! that's why i am asking you what to use!"and face washes are basically all the same. obviously if they worked, i wouldn't be sitting in here for a consultation with her. so just use whatever you want. i am not in the business of making recommendations, they don't pay me for that. for all i care, you can use shampoo on your face and that will do the trick."um....WHAT!!!!???so i asked her about this face wash,exposed, that i have been using for the past year that is the best that i've found for my skin, all natural, etc. she said "well if you want to spend $50 a month on something like that, then its your choice. i personally have better things to waste my money on." not even one question about the product or anyhting! and that was that! 2.5 minutes of my time wasted. she said have a good day and walked out of the office.okay lady! you are welcome for the $100 that it cost me to walk into your office for that 2 1/2 min.(literally) consultation. and no, btw, the doxicycline didn't work, infact it made my back and shoulders break out in a rash cuz i went out in the sun while on it. (which btw, you made no mention of)And no, dr. blattner, you will not see me again. not because the meds you gave me worked and b/c of the great advice, but because i have better things to waste my $100 on other than you!

Dr. Blattner is unique. She is extremely experienced and very matter-of-fact. I have seen her several times to check my skin and remove moles. She has put me at ease over things I was worried about. I really like her casual style and frank openness, but some people may feel her personality is TOO abrupt or factual for them in sensitive situations.

I went to two physicians, two other dermatologists, and a naturlist before I went to Dr. Blattner. I had been given medication, topical creams, and injections with no success. No one had a diagnosis for my skin problems and I was about to go through a battery of allergy tests. I went to Dr. Blattner for a final opinion. Within 10 days my skin had cleared up and stayed cleared up. She was the only doctor who took one look at my skin, knew exactly what was wrong, knew what to do to fix it, and did just that.Thank you Dr. Blattner!

She did not listen to me at all and instead interrupted everything I even tried to say!!! I have reacted to food allergies in the same way my ENTIRE life and she brushed off what I was saying and just wanted to give me a shot of prednisone. THIS IS A VERY SHORT TERM FIX!!!! it does not help me long term. All she was interested in was getting me out the door. Extremely unhappy!! THEENNN i was supposed to sit in the lobby to see if I had any reaction to the shot and no one even cared to come check on me even 45 minutes later!!! DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR!! SHE DOES NOT CARE AND WONT HELP U!!!

What a disappointing and hurtful experience I had with "Dr." Blattner!! During my appointment time with her, she was so unconcerned and blase about my skin problem. I still remember her, with what looked like to me a very bored expression on her face, telling me my condition was "in my genes"!! No compassion or caring, no helpful rememdies or treatment. I would not recommend her to my worst enemy. She is a terrible excuse for a dermatologist!!!
