Dr. Mary Ellen Defranco, MD

Dr. Mary Defiance has been my children's pediatrician for over 13 years. She's been a great doctor. She picked up the phone the day after Christmas to take care of my daughter's pink eye. She doesn't waste a lot of time with small talk, but focuses in on whatever is needed. She is very knowledgeable and has always listened to our concerns and approached treatment in a very efficient way while including us in the decision making. She actually cares about input from parents. We think she's exceptional.

My daughter has been a patient with her since she was very little. Now at the age of 15 she still will not see any other doctor. The staff is very pleasant to speak to. I can call and get a some day appointment. I have never waited more than 5 minutes to get in to see the doctor. r DeFrance know her job. She does not candy coat anything. I am not going there to make friends I am there so the doctor can make my child healthy again. When I need the doctor she answers he cell phone day or night. Thank you doctor for many years keep my daughter healthy.

Belittled my child who was in pain, condesending and insulting to me, breaks protocol, has students in room without introducing or asking permission, sent for refurral to facility that dosent perform that test, dirty office

I use to go to her when i was little and she was excellent, Now i am going to be taking my son to her!

They never answer their voicemail you can call over and over day after day but yet I received a phone call back from this facility to make an appointment for my children. I wind up taking him to emergency care three months in a row now because I can't make something as simple as an appointment because nobody answers phones or returns phone calls so I can't even get to see the doctor to write her . But if the receptionist can't even answer phone calls maybe they should think of hiring someone new if they can handle something simple as voice messages and answering phone calls maybe they shouldn't be running a doctors office!

She's been our doctor for several years. The kids and I like her very much. She is very straight forward, and easy to understand. She listens to parent concerns and input, makes suggestions and answers questions (from parents and kids) leaving parents empowered in their medical decisions. She is able to be both thorough and efficient while keeping her appointments moving. She has never pushed any treatments, medications, or vaccines. We were even able to reach her in the evening on a weekend for pink eye. She was as kind as could be and took care of the prescription. Her staff has always been pleasant and helpful as well.

In my opinion, i feel as if she has poor parent/child skills. I took my son there when he was a baby because she was close to home. He had a heart problem that she did not feel the need to address properly. When my son was sick, she prescribed medication that should not be taken with his heart medicine- which she knew he was taking. I also feel like she treats her patients like a number rather than a human being. She manhandled my son, almost like he was a toy rather than an infant. She did not explain what she was doing or why. In my opinion, this woman should not work with kids.

I advise no one to bring their child into Dr. Defranco's office. This women should not be working with children. Our kids already feel nervous and scared to be at the doctor. She handled my daughter like she was a ragdoll, slamming her head down on the scale because she was not cooperating. We are not looking for fake affection to be poured onto our kids just patience and communication. I wouldn't take my dog to see her.

Dr. Defranco has been my daughters dr since she was a few weeks old. She is now 10. She fits her in on short notice, always answers her cell phone when I call with an emergency, is straight forward and honest. My daughter thinks she's great and always looks forward to seeing her. I find the "bad" reviews hard to believe.
