Dr. Mary Katherine Kolbert, MD

Just like all the other reviews she is still a referral specialist. She wants nothing to do with your problems but to pass u off to a specialist. Won’t look into test results just orders the labs to be drawn again. I had a pulse of 55 my last visit which is a sign of bradycardia didn’t even mention it. When another dr ordered test to show her this wasn’t a mental health issue her response was well “u should have that dr treat u.” The whole point was to show her there is an issue even then she said “well what you want a referral?” When your sick the office will recommend urgent care refuses to take sick visits. She doesn’t deserve a medical license she has no bed side manners and is super dismissive. I’m so disgusted and wish I had read these reviews before trusting her or her team. The team will also ignore u and put what they want in your chart I was floored at the amount of inaccurate charting. Read your charts if you are her patient you will see she just ignores you and then… blames u. She is a disgrace to medicine and a fraud that wants a quick pay day only wants to preform physicals on healthy people and will refuse to see you even for a simple ear infection

Doctor refuses to grant sick appointments. Insists you go to urgent care or emergency room. I don’t need a doctor that only sees me when I’m well.

Something does not add up with this doctor. It’s impossible to get appointments. She sends you to specialists with no explanation to why. The specialists are confused as well. Then she expects a follow-up for everything. Maybe if she did the work and truly tried to diagnose a patient she wouldn’t have her schedule so riddled with follow-up’s and true appointments could be made. I really wished I had seen these reviews before.

The very worst dr! Wouldn't answer me & just walked out of the room while I was walking! VERY rude, uncaring & unprofessional to say the least. Dumped her immediately.

Would not fill a script for an anxiety medication. Previous doctors gave me a 1 month supply ONLY (no refills) for occasional anxiety. She wanted me to take an antidepressant that would not be effective for 6-8 weeks. I especially would have liked this med during the Covid-19 pandemic. I am 69 years old, live alone, moved twice in the last 10 months and my cat died. She has no compassion.

I recently moved to the Buffalo area and started seeing Dr. Kolbert as my primary Physician. My initial visit went ok and she seemed nice. She referred me to a cardiologist because of a concern I brought up. All testing came back normal. A few months later, I went in for my yearly physical and I asked her a few questions relating to minor symptoms I was experiencing. She did not answer any of my questions but rather set me up for two referrals to other doctors. She had no answers to very routine questions I brought up. She brought up my visit with the cardiologist and said everything was great (which I knew because the report was on mybmgchart.com). She left the room and came back about 5 minutes later and said she would feel more comfortable if I went back and saw the cardiologist again even though everything was normal. This made it three referrals in total. I didn't really think anything of it until I went in for one of my referral visits and the doctor had absolutely know idea why… I was in for the visit. He talked to me for less than five minutes and sent me on my way. This was after a $40.00 copay and more than likely a lot more billed to insurance. Dr. Kolbert appears to act more as a middleman to specialists than a Doctor. Every other doctor i've ever visited could answer questions, diagnose and have you leave the visit feeling good. She didn't do any of that. I would recommend looking around for other doctors and reading reviews. Something I should have done and will from now on.

Dr. Kolbert doesn't listen, she acts more like a ER nurse than a family provider. She's always flying around rather than taking an extra step with active listening or showing compassion in taking care of her patients. I've heard her make elderly patients cry from the next room over and rather than dealing with simple things, she red flags them and sends them off in an ambulance. I've never heard an elderly person so terrified to go to a hospital before. It was absolutely heart wrenching to hear this person cry due to the doctor not listening to what her patient clearly needed. She's also rather rude and extremely pushy. Instead of trying to help understand her patients and their needs, she would soon rather push you off onto a specialist, which can be and is rather costly. Dr. Kolbert sent me for an ECHO test, which was clearly unneeded. After going to these specialists they will ask you why you were even sent to them because your results will clearly be normal. It seems as though… she'd rather misdiagnosis than take care of what is on her plate with patients. She also sent me to a mental health consoler on her site, the woman clearly stated to me that I have great insurance and that I should stay with her for my mental needs because they'll pay her out well. The woman clearly stated she was after my insurance money and during our 3 visits together she never listened or acted as a true consoler. She didn't help with anything at all, she stared out the window more than I did. I even had to ask if she was listening to me during our third meeting, the only way I truly held this woman's attention was by stating something completely untrue and irrational. I know from other patients I've talked to they've gone through the same things. It's truly upsetting and extremely frustrating considering I had heard nothing but great things previous to becoming a patient. Her staffing is nice, but there's two clerical workers that are extremely nasty and do absolutely nothing to help you. Making appointments is close to impossible at times, even if they are for follow up visits. Some times Dr. Kolbert will require you to come back for a follow up and it will be completely unneeded. My last follow up I had to go to her nurse practitioner because of how far behind she was that day. K. Batt was her name, she was confused on why I even had to do a follow up. I left within 2 minutes because Dr. Kolbert did not back the file up with any comments about why I needed the follow up to begin with. I thought that was truly embarrassing for the facility and have not gone back since. Sometimes the wait is 5 minutes and sometimes it can be up to 45 minutes. You never know what you'll get on any given day.

I wish I read the reviews here before ever going to Dr. Kolbert. It would have saved me a lot of time, aggravation, money & stress. The ball was dropped on an important diagnoses and that was the final experience I endured that made me realize I won't waste any more time going to this doctor. I had the same experience as others have written about always sending me to a specialist and not listening either. Evidently she is afraid to do anything herself so she just passes off the patient to specialists. I told her of two very simple things I was needing and she wasn't able to help in either of those areas either. She also gave bad advice that would have hindered my health if I listened to her! I've been to other doctors in various cities so I know the difference of a very poor quality primary care doctor when I have had bad experiences each time I went.

She has always spent adequate time with me each visit. Explaining and always answering any questions I have.

What a waste of time and money in my visit to Dr. Kolbert. Like all the other reviews she felt the need to sent me to a cardiac specialist for a costly (I am still making payments) echo cardiogram. Once I got appt. with specialist-the dr. looked right at me and said " I am not sure why you are here you have NO markers for heart problems." Results of echo showed perfectly normal heart. Please do not go to this so-called Dr. it will be a waste of your time and money-not to mention her lack of bedside manner. I would give no stars if that were an option.
