Dr. Matthew Apter, MD

I was running late due to traffic, tried calling and could not get through and only could leave messages. Was called back finally to be told I could not reschedule and was denied treatment.

Dr. Apter is the worst doctor I have ever seen in my entire life. He did not do any testing on me and immediately started prescribing me medications that messed my stomach up. I would not recommend him to ANYONE. He would not order me any further testing because he wants me to keep coming back to his office and wait weeks to see him so he can get more money from me as opposed to just ordering me the right tests when I've been miserable for months. RUN FAR AWAY.

Doctor diagnosis was accurate but follow up as diagnosis changed was non-responsive.so much so that we needed to employ another doctor's service to complete the patients care

Dr. Apter had performed my colonoscopies in the past, but I didn't need a gastroenterologist until a couple months ago. He knew right away from my explanation of symptoms what I had and suggested hospitalization, where he performed a test and had the diagnosis confirmed. He was just what you hope a doctor will be: knowledgeable, sensitive, compassionate. I never felt as if he were rushing to the next patient. I would recommend him wholeheartedly to others.

Dr. Apter was wonderful. Very kind, humorous, went out of his way to make you feel relaxed and actually sat across a desk and conversed for a few minutes before even discussing your medical issue (remember doctors used to do that?). To also mention, his diagnosis of an esophageal stricture was accurate without even taking an X-ray or doing a scan. I would recommend him to anyone needing a very skilled and competent GI man.
