Dr. Matthew Guy Buxton, MD

I visited Dr. Buxton for the first time last week to get a new perspective on a chronic skin allergy/rash that I have been dealing with for years. The nurse rushed through questions about the history of my condition and seemed completely uninterested in learning the details. When Dr. Buxton came in, he immediately diagnosed me with something before even looking at my rash. The scariest part is that my records from my previous doctor had yet to arrive to Dr. Buxton's office so how could he have known anything about my condition? When I followed his diagnosis with questions about treatments, he listed a few medicines. I told him that I had actually tried the medicines he listed and they had not worked. He threw his hands up in the air, raised his voice at me and said, "I don't know what to tell you then. You are out of luck." I asked him if he could give me more details on the diagnosis, and he handed me a brochure then told me to have a nice day. I left in tears. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!… Never going back!

Hard to work with. Be ready to pay out of your pocket. They don't work with insurance companies. The staff isn't very helpful. Everyone seems overworked. I think he need to add more staff accommodate his patients more.

I was impressed with Dr Buxton. I made appointment to have a mole looked at, and he did a whole body check for me and put my mind at ease.

We had a horrible experiance and will not be going back. The staff seem far more focused on their cosmetic dermatology patients than their patients with real medical need. In addition, instead of prescribing the standard treatment for our problem (which has been used for over 30 years and is known not to cause a reaction even to the most sensitive skin with prolonged use), the doctor prescribed the latest treatment, which was not adequately tested for the age group of the patient and is known to cause a reaction even with short term use. The treatement caused a reaction prolonging and complicating the healing process.

Dr. Buxton is one of my favorite doctors.He is concerned and caring.He takes time and is genuinely interested in me.The staff is very friendly and will accommodate my scheduling needs.He gives me free samples if he has them and he answers all of my questions.

Very courteous doctor. Gives samples or discount cards to patients needing help paying for expensive drugs as well as cleared up my acne problem (had seen other dermatologists with some relief, but not total). Best dermatologist in town!

He seemed quite knowledgeable and had a good bedside manner--I had a body check for skin cancer.

This doctor and staff in my opinion lack empathy and are not genuinely concerned for the patient. The office is only open Mon.-Thurs. until 4:30 and closed noon-one for lunch. After several years of being his patient I have finally had enough of taking off work to accomodate his office. I recently have noticed, and have been a victim of his superior seeming attitude and aloof demeanor. His receptionist and nurse are unfriendly to say the least. Don't put yourself through this,just go somewhere else.

I went to this doctor and I was NOT impressed at all!!, this man did not help me one bit with my wart problem, the office staff was very UNFRIENDLY!, Dr. Buxton was very rude to me, I did not appreciate my visit at all!!! I DO NOT recommend him
