Dr. Megan M Shanks, MD

Dr Shanks was THE doctor that found the correct diagnosis and treatment for my condition. She listened, observed and got me into a program that made a major difference in my life. My best friend referred Dr Shanks to me after she diagnosed her lupus. Cant thank her enough.

dr. megan shanks is the best doctor. She really listens to concerns and does not try to dismiss you. If I could I would still be her patient but because of insurance issues I had to change doctors. I have not found one yet that is remotely close to her level of care and understanding.

I went to see Dr. Shanks to make a decision on surgery for spinal stenosis. She took time and a serious interest in my inquiru. Dr. Shanks provided me with much more useful information than two neurosurgeons I consulted. I highly recommend her if you need information to make a decision for surgery or other treatment.

Dr shanks has to be the one of the rudest docs i have ever had to deal with! Her resident was absolutely amazing, shanks on the other hand....1 second after her introduction was a 20 minute tirade about how i need to get off my pain medications. Mind you, i am a chronic pain patient with a few painful conditions , life without my medication is agony at best. I have never met her before, she doesn't know my history, she didn't bother to hear anything from me, she just went on and on and on about how i am "addicted" and how they wont do anything for me unless i STOP my meds period. All she did was leave a very bad taste in my mouth and reassured me how nasty some "Dr's" can be. I would NOT let my pet cockroach deal with her! I cannot believe i have to pay a dime for her nastiness. If you are on any pain medication, avoid this woman like typhoid mary!

She will sit down and talk with you about your issues, does not rush ever. Also, very capable and will go through any questions thoroughly, even look at MRI's with you and tell you what you are looking at.
