Very Professional and caring!

I first saw Dr. Donat in 2009 for gallbladder issues. He told me that I should not have it out because I did not have stones and could get dump syndrome as a result. In 2014 I was in the ER for a week of nausea. After the ER visit I went to see Dr. Donot. He told me if I didn't get it out I could get pancreatitis. I saw a surgeon and had it taken out robotically. Since that day I had a stomach ache, suffered from bouts of nausea and bloating. I had elevated pancreas enzymes. He did every test imaginable and couldn't find an reason why they were elevated and I was suffering with pain. He diagnosed me with idopathic chronic pancreatitis. What got to me is after all the years in the end he told me "maybe you would feel better if you lost weight". I am a size 8 and didn't need to lose weight. I had issues with eating because I didn't know when i would get an attack. I I never saw him again after that. Before then I loved Dr. Donat. I couldn't believe he said that to me. … I finally went to a new gastroenterologist that was not in the Beaumont system but in the Henry Ford Health System. He reviewed all my records and his recommendation was this......I have IGA and IGM deficiency and he suggested trying to go gluten free. He said there is also a correlation between gallbladder removal surgery and gluten intolerance. Wow Gluten and soy free. My symptoms are gone and my levels are finally normal.

Dr. Don't is a very gentle, caring and attentive surgeon. He performed many procedures. He has a focus on giving information so you can make decisions. He will explain what he is going to do and what to expect. He performed the complicated ERCP on me without any problems. You must be skillfully to do this.

Dr. Donat is the best!! I've been seen by many gastroenterologists in my life but not one was as caring and helpful as Dr. Donat. My daughters are now patients!! We would not trade! Since my husband and I moved it's worth the hour and ten minute drive to be sure I have the best gastro guy!! Nice nice man and always right on!

I have had Dr Donat as my doctor for the past four years. He is a kind, caring doctor, with a great bedside manner. I would recommend him to my best friend and family members.

Perhaps he is a good doctor for older people who have an understanding of their condition, but I do not recommend him for people who do not have a diagnosis or who are new to their disease.

I found Dr. Donat through my sister. She recommended him. I really like his thorough approach to my health. He has a very professional demeaner while making you comfortable. I would recommend Dr Donat to anyone who needs this type of professional.
