Dr. Michael Lee Blackwell, MD

Had elbow surgery today by Blackwell. Prior to surgery, he walked in my room (late), looked at vitals and left. No questions, no explanations. After surgery, never saw him, he did not check on me at all. I was sent home w Tramadol script that turned out to be very insufficient for pain level. When I called later in day for a better med for the increasing pain, his staff said Blackwell will not prescribe any type narcotic pain meds. Period. Even for surgical pain. When I told the staff the pain was really bad and the Tramadol was not providing any relief, they suggested I contact a pain management doctor. For surgery pain, really? Blackwell is not concerned about patient care one bit. STAY AWAY.

Dr Michael Blackwell orthopedic is a very good doctor his staff on the other hand is horrible I've had bad experience with his head nurse Miss Anna she has caused me a lot of problems other than that Dr Blackwell is a good doctor I just like I said don't care much for his staff especially Miss Anna she lies and tries to cause problem for people I kind of wonder if Dr Blackwell knows what Miss Anna is doing for his business she's really pushing it into the mud. Which makes him look bad if he is allowing it.

when God made physicians he did not forget about one special man by the name of Michael Blackwell I just want to let black Dr Blackwell know what an awesome and he is in my life and now he has saved me out of a lot of pain I thank him very much and I want him to know this and everyone else that reads his comments he is a very thorough dr. He gets right down to business he going to beat around the bush and he's very honest so if you're looking for orthopedic surgeon or a bone doctor the doctor Michael Blackwell he is awesome.

Dr Blackwell was fine but his office staff was completely incompetent. From my very first visit there was mistake after mistake. Even when I would call for a refill it would take a week for it to happen because they kept forgetting or misplacing the request. I finally had to get a different doctor to treat me. Very unfortunate to have such a poor experience.

Dr. Blackwell is an excellent doctor. I had hip replacement surgery and everything went well. Dr, Blackwell was very informative about the procedure prior to the operation and follow-up visits went great. I would highly recommend Dr.Blackwell to someone if they are in need of a hip replacement. Also, his staff are the best- kind, friendly and most importantly helpful.

I tore my ACL playing basketball. Dr. Blackwell performed ACL surgery on my right knee. The surgery went well and the post op therapy that he provided was excellent. I am now back performing at my pre-surgical level. I would certainly go back and have with any orthopaedic problems

I can't say enough about Dr. Blackwell care that he has given me. I had a shoulder injury that all but kept me form playing golf. I had several doctors try to help me and none was successful. Dr Blackwell diagnosed my problem, set up a treatment plan and now am pain free and playing golf at will. He suceeded where others failed

I made an appointment in which the recptist said ok how about tomorrow at 3pm. I rolled my ankle and my family practice doc said see orthopedic doc because I adviously tore leguments since I heard loud ripping sound before I fell to the ground. I sould need an xray or possiblely an mri and a walking boot. When I showed up the next day I sat there in the office for 30 mins before they said my appointment wasn't until tomorrow. So I left. I had a call in the morning conf. I came back to the office. I sat there for over one hour and he didn't even know why I was there. He never read the forms I filled out that his office requested. Which one of the first questions were: what brings you here today. Clearly my I ended up standing on my ankle and heard a loud and long ripping noise from it. My ankle was swollen, and green towards the side of my foot and ankle. I couldn't walk on it. He asked first what happened to your back? I told him its my foot and ankle that I needed him for. He… said ok let's get an X-ray. He came back in 5 mins and said you sprained your ankle, take ibuprofen and rest. That was it. He never touched my foot/ankle. No examination what so ever. He didn't even look at it. He billed my insurance for 750.00 and an extended level three examination. Wow. Just raked it in and said that's it! Don't see this doctor even if your on your death bed!!!

Dr. Blackwell is a wonderful, caring surgeon. He operated on a very old (30-something years) knee injury. It's not the way it was in the original engineering, but it is so much better than I ever expected. He didn't have much to work with, but my knee is so improved. He truly needs help with his office staff, especially whoever answers the telephone. I have phoned before and simply asked, does Dr. Blackwell have any openings this week in the Humble office? And, the answer, NO. Not, he has something next week, what problems are you having, nothing. Just NO, and radio silence. Truly unprofessional.
