Dr. Michael Claude Burnette, MD

Had to stop seeing him after he nearly landed me in the hospital by prescribing a med that gave me serotonin syndrome, then tried to do it a second time. He did this despite having my current med list and us talking about a med I was on, which it turns out increased my risk of SS and wasn't the only one. He didn't mention the danger of combining these meds and when I alerted him to what had happened and stopped the new med, he tried to switch me to another med that had the same risk.

I was fortunate to find Dr. Burnette on the internet when I was first diagnosed with RA back in 2014. I have found him to be "my kind of doctor" for the following reasons: He listens to me. He doesn't treat me like a mentally retarded senior just because of my age (now 2 months shy of 90). He gives me medications that help. I feel comfortable when with him.

I had an appt today..while on my way I was called by the Dr office to tell me Dr was stuck in traffic and would not be in for some time. My appt was at 8:25 am. I was informed that I could come in and sit and wait and they would try to work me in sometime today or I could reschedule. The chick that called me did not care and she made that quite clear. So what that appt had been scheduled for awhile. So what that I had to schedule this day off way in advance. Why was I told you would fit me in? I have cancelled seeing this Dr and asked for my records and plan to go to a Dr whose staff gives a crap. There are way to many Drs to be treated like crap!!!

Today was my first appointment at the Brandon location. So far I like Dr. Burnette. He seems to really care. He took his time and listened to all my concerns. He ordered blood work and X-rays to see what’s going on with me. I hope to get good positive results. Office staff was very nice and professional.

I went to Dr. Burnett for about 5 years. The only time he really spoke to me was at my first appointment. After that the routine was wait about an hour, he comes in with my file, goes to the back of the examining room, and with his back to me starts mumbling about my arthritis and my prescriptions. X-rays were taken but never an MRI to get to the real problem (pinched nerves). I wasted 5 years going to him.

IVE BEEN SEEING DR BURNETTE FOR 3 YEARS ,HES A VERY GOOD DR!! HE HELPED ME FEEL SO MUCH BETTER REGARDING MY ARTHRITIS AND FIBROMIALGIA!

Dr. Burnette very cold. You have to pull information out of him, when he's the Doctor. The young lady at the front desk not friendly at all. The wait time is awful when you are called in almost 2hrs pass your appointment time and the Dr is only with you for a few minutes.

When I was diagnosed with RA last year I had never even heard of it. The pain was excruciating. I could barely walk or use my hands. Dr. Burnette was great. He is treating my RA and I feel wonderful now. I would definitely recommend him to anyone who has RA.

I have been seeing Dr Burnette for several years now, for multiple medical problems. He is an superb diagnostician. Do not mistake social awkwardness for a lack of caring.

As a physician Dr. Burnette is good. His wait time has prompted me to find another doctor. I can certainly understand a wait time of 30-45 minutes, but I have been going to his office for the past 6 months, and NEVER have I gotten in before a one and a half hour to two hour wait. That's a bit rediculous to me. His staff is average, but you never see the same people twice, taking vitals and checking you in.????
