Dr. Michael Denis Burton, DO

Dr. Burton is not everyone's cup of tea, but if you want straight forward, no sugar-coated bs then he's the man to see. I have multiple physical issues and have seen a lions share of doctors and at least when I leave Burton I know exactly what's happening. I'm not scratching my head trying to make sense of what they were saying and afraid I missed some important details through the fluff of bedside manners. Yes, he does call in scripts but no he won't dole oit meds unnecessarily. I don't mind spending $60 to see him every couple months..you never know what has changed and his better safe than sorry system works for me. So if you want someone who will be straight up Burton is the right choice but if you need fluffed and pets of your overly sensitive feelings find someone else.

Combative. Unfriendly. This is why he works at a place that charges $50 a Visit.

Old-time family physician on the island. Made me feel very comfortable during my physical exam. Explained everything and gave me some health tips too. I live part-time on the island and very happy I've found him.

Out of his CLAIMED expertise. Not everyone needs a pelvic exam when they walk in the door. Don't know how negotiations a license!

I've been to many doctors in my time. Burton has the distinction of being the worse doctor I've ever been to. No idea why he became a doctor. He doesn't like people. He comes across sarcastic rude and condescending.I feel sorry for his staff. Can't imagine working there.On my one and only visit it didn't take long before i got the feeling he really and truly didn't give a hoot about me. Why a guy like this can continue to practice medicine is beyond me. Disgraceful.

Dr is very touchy and rude, I would not recommend any women to go to this doctor unless they want to feel violated.

Only in the one horse town of Key West would a medical "professional" like Dr.Burton continue to operate. I have mild depression and general anxiety. I am in relatively good health and only take Welbutrin on a regular basis. When I receive my prescriptions from Dr. Burton he writes me a script for a single refill before I have to return yet again. Being that Burton runs an urgent care facility he caters mostly To those who don't have insurance and his fees are nominal. $50.00 for an office visit. I suspect that it is this fee is why I must continually come back and forth rather than just writing me a script with multiple refills. On one occasion I called the office to see if they could fill my prescription over the phone. They took my phone number and asked if a nurse could call me back. After 5 hours and no return phone call I called back to which my request was still in medical limbo and an answer couldn't be provided until after 5:00pm. Instead of running out of my medication I… left work early and came to the doctors office. Absurd. Secondly, my wife also has a prescription for Welbutrin. Multiple times she has been requested by the good doctor to remove her shirt for her vitals. Also, he has recommended instead of her OBGYN that he give her a Pap smear. Creepy.Needless to say, she refuses to go to him anymore and after this nickel and diming, I will not either.

Very rude and condensing, It's amazing to me that he is able to continue to practice medicine, I feel sorry for his nurses, I cannot imagine what is like to work with him. I would love to comment more but I was brought up if you don't have anything nice to say and I don't, then you should keep your mouth shut. But I figured if I could help one person and they avoid dealing with him that I should.
