Dr. Michael Evan Garfinkel, MD

It seems people who are his type recieved good treatment, but if he thinks he has you figured out, don't expect him to listen or investigate. He was eager to prescribe for my blood pressure but flatly dismissive of everything else, often in blatantly insulting ways or with a thinly polite smile. If I felt a little neurotic about visiting doctors before, now I feel like I have a compelling reason to be leery and semi-honest.

Dr. Garfinkel is caring and compassionate. Vigilant and dedicated to his profession.

Dr. Garfinkel may have been an attentive doctor at some time, but not now. My doctor, Scott Halpert retired and he was wonderful and a hard act to follow. Dr. Garfinkel does not follow up on issues I have brought to him -- serious issues that affect my daily life. He doesn't act on medical issues unless I make an appointment for that specific problem and will refer me to a specialist only if I insist. He very politely just nods but does not offer any solutions. All he wants to do is check my blood levels for cholesterol, blood pressure etc. so he can prescribe medication. Maybe he is at a point in his career where he is sleep-walking, waiting to retire.

Dr. Garfinkel has been my PCP for many years now and in all those years I have received nothing but completely professional, competent, and thorough care. And, he genuinely cares about his patients. He always listens to what you have to say. I can't tell you how many times I felt like a doctor was just doing what he needed to get me in-and-out, so he could get to his next patient. But, with Dr. Garfinkel, he sits and talks WITH you - not AT you - and you never feel rushed or dismissed. He is truly one of kind! I trust him so much that have referred many people to him, and will continue to do so. He is truly one in a million!
