Dr. Michael Fahey Duffy, MD

Are all orthopedic surgeons horrible with bedside manners? He was short and rude and acted like I was wasting his time.

After seeing Dr Duffy for almost three wasted years , and never getting any answers , I found a fantastic caring surgeon. Dr Duffy wanted me to see another Dr in their practice, an hour away to do an SI joint fusion because he suddenly thought that was my issue ( wrong!). I ended up having a 360 fusion L4/5-S1 and probably some permanent nerve damage from the nerves being compressed for so long . Dr Duffy was nice enough , but always seemed not really interested. His PA I saw once had the gall to compare his so called spine issues to mine and say , oh everyone has that at some point ??.

Dr. Duffy is awesome! I had 3 different issues with my spine that caused excruciating pain. Dr. Duffy gave me my life back! I did a lot of research before choosing him and I am so happy I did. He always tries every available option before recommending surgery. When physical therapy & injections did not help, only then did he recommend surgery. Over the past several years, Dr. Duffy successfully performed surgery on my low back and neck when nothing else worked. I would not trust any other doctor with my spine! His staff is awesome too.

Not sure where to start but yesterday Dr. Duffy basically told me he is no longer my doctor. I am filing a complaint with the Texas Medical. His office will not return my calls. After I have some kind of resolution or closure I will add to my story. In the meantime, I have found another spine surgeon at UT Southwestern.

This is the second time Dr Duffy has operated on my spine. Both times produced 100% perfect results. If there is ever a third time, it will be performed by Dr Duffy! (Assuming he’s willing!)

I saw Dr Duffy again after several years following a accident resulting in compression fractures. It's recently given more severe pain for me and I hoped to get something or ideas on how to cope with the acute pain daily. I'm a senior and in good health. I was in the office a good hour to go have more XRays done although I brought recent MRIs . I was seen mostly by his male asst. and only a short time with the doctor. He really seemed disinterested in ways to help my pain . He did mention some shots and also advised me to take Tylenol arthritis pills . These do nothing for the pain I have. I found the office ladies rather unhelpful as well. I consider this visit / my time/ more XRays a waste of my time. He just seemed aloof / disinterested. I will be seeking other surgeons: pain management physicians now..

Dr. Duffy is the best. My back doctor for 5 and a half years. No way I would ever go to any other back doctor.

Could not give me any answers! Just sending me for more tests that I’ve already have had! After I started crying because my nerve pain is so bad I asked If tests came back the same what would we do! No response or idea! I have two small children and no family do you think I can get in for two different tests in less than a week.... so dissatisfied!

Dr. Duffy is a great dr and good bed side manner. His upfront staff I did not care for in 2016, but maybe they've been replaced.

Cannot say enough good about Dr Michael Duffy. His staff is awesome! They all care!!
