I am so happy that Dr Weisberg was recommended to me. I have had some long time issues and Dr Weisberg had some tests run and found a major medical issue. I think he really takes an interest in his patients and he has even called me at home to talk as he knew I was quite concerned. He is very calming and very thorough Doctor. Thank you Dr. Weisberg....you are the best!!
I was extremely disappointed with my experience here. First I followed the preparation procedure for my colonoscopy exactly but was later informed by Dr. Weisberg that I had prepared for this procedure extremely poorly and that the procedure was of limited value and it would have to be repeated in three months - a situation that would be totally on my nickel and extremely costly for me to perform since it would then not be covered by insurance. A closer review of the situation revealed that the doctor had not specified the proper preparation procedure for my colonoscopy. In short, he did not restrict the intake of high fiber foods prior to the procedure and, most particularly, the intake of nuts and popcorn. Note that upon closer examination I have found that these foods are very difficult to purge from the colon. Notably, most other doctors restrict the intake of nuts and popcorn for a few days to a week before the procedure to ensure that the colon is clear. Dr. Weisberg did not specify any of this in his preparation procedures. Since I eat nuts virtually every day and the last thing I ate before my procedure was popcorn, my colon was not clear for the procedure and visibility inside my colon was very limited. This situation, however, was entirely the fault of the doctor. This not only cost me around 3 days of effort preparing for and undergoing the colonoscopy but also cost us thousands of dollars of our insurance money paid to this doctor that could have been better used elsewhere. In addition, it did little to reduce my risk to colon cancer. Needless to say I am not happy. Furthermore, the Digestive Health Associates of Texas also claims to accept our BlueCross BlueShield PPO. This PPO is in actuality an excellent PPO costing us in total around $24,000 a year and accepted by the vast majority of hospitals and doctors. Unfortunately, this practice hires in CRNAs who are out-of-network and furthermore do nothing to inform you of this situation. You naturally think that the CRNAs actually work for DHAT since they work directly in their facilities and as such are DHAT employees and therefore would be covered directly under your insurance plan. However, they are not. The CRNA who performed my anesthesia must also have clearly known that he did not accept many, or maybe even all, of the insurance plans which DHAT purports to accept and does nothing to inform you that they are out-of-network providers allowing them to charge double the going rate for the anesthesia. So on top of having Dr. Weisberg performing a largely worthless procedure, I now have a $1350 out-of-network charge from the CRNA who just conveniently forgot to tell me he was out-of-network so he could double his charges. Needless to say I would never have dealt with this practice had I known this was the situation. So BEWARE before you do business with this practice.
I had a few scans for chest pain and vomiting done three years ago which led to tens of thousands of dollars spent on every little unimportant thing the scans showed BUT my problem because it never showed up on any scans. I was left undiagnosed, abandoned by Weisberg and the five specialists he had me see in addition, without a job and still in pain. Eventually, I stopped trying. I am self treated and doing better than I did under the care of Weisberg. I take Zantac when I have reflux. Imagine what a nice vacation I could have taken. Instead six doctors, some anaethesiologists, and a few radiologists took it. Let's hope I can still have children. The nurse is nice though.
