Dr Michael John Langworthy

Shannen office manager is soooo rude. Refuses to take photocopies of medical record pertinent to my care. Refuses to do letters for the handicapped bus or my home health care. The Doctor was super nice. Shannen also refuses ADA reasonable accommodation stating they don't email. I don't have a phone.

My wife met with Dr Langworthy regarding pain in her left leg. He told her that she needed a total hip-joint replacement for her left hip. This was unexpected, and we were both stunned. She made arrangements for the surgery. I looked at Dr. Langworthy's reviews on the Internet, and was comforted by seeing many 5-star reviews. However, my wife felt uneasy about Dr. Langworthy, so she arranged to see a doctor at New England Baptist Hospital. The doctor there examined her and said with no uncertainty "It's not your hip. The symptoms are wrong." She has subsequently met with doctors at New England Baptist Spine center, and they have diagnosed it as irritated nerves at the low end of her spine. They have recommended a nonsurgical treatment. She is following their advice. I am shaken by how close we came to proceeding with hip-joint replacement surgery as recommended by Dr Langworthy, an irreversible procedure which likely would have left her with her pain problem unsolved. Dr.… Langworthy may be an excellent surgeon, but he may not be good at diagnosing problems. I have two words of advice - get a second opinion and trust womens' intuition. Dr Langworthy made a huge error, and it was only luck that it did not result in a tragedy. I give him 1 star, and that may be generous.

After several years of pain, I was pretty much resigned to the idea that I would need hip replacement within a few years based on what several specialists in the Kalamazoo area told me. Then I decided to try getting an opinion from Dr. Langworthy. That was 12 years ago. Doctor Langworthy diagnosed an unusual condition in my hip and surgically repaired it without hip replacement. It has been fine for the last 12 years - I have hiked, run, skied, etc. without any problems. Maybe I am now starting to feel a little discomfort in it, but 12 years is quite a while! Brilliant, skilled, caring surgeon. If I ever needed a hip replacement, I would definitely go to him.

My mom had surgery on her right knee 3 years ago by another surgeon and he never really cared about my mom's condition. so since I was a patient of dr. langworthy's I called the office and asked his medical assistant if my mom can get an appointment with him and she got one the day after I had my left knee surgery with dr. langworthy. he gave her a cortisone shot and tried another type of shot but since that didn't work, he did exploratory arthroscopy of her knee. she had another meniscus tear and arthritis. pain never went away and he recommended a partial replacement but after the medical assistant said it would only last 7 years, dr. langworthy said a total would be better and my mom agreed. last Monday she had the total knee replacement put in and dr. langworthy told me that her knee was really arthritic and she made a good choice going for a total knee. thank you dr. langworthy for taking care of me and my mom

I just had right shoulder surgery with dr. langworthy yesterday. I had a rotator cuff tear and he fixed it using the arthroscopic technique. he also did a subacromial decompression surgery because he also diagnosed me with right shoulder impingement syndrome. with the subacromial decompression surgery being done also, he had to make a bigger incison down my shoulder to do that certain operation. im still sore today, but I think dr. langworthy did a really good job with my surgery. he also did both of my knee surgeries and he also did my mom's right knee surgery. I think dr. langworthy is one of the best orthopedic surgeons in southcoast Massachusetts

Dr. Langworthy did an open retinacular release and an IT Band Release on my left knee yesterday. Even though my knee is still sore, it feels a lot better and Dr. Langworthy explained the surgery before the operation
