Dr. Michael Stanley Niziol, MD

Dr. Niziol is exactly the doctor my husband and I were looking for when our PCPs retired. Dr. Michael Niziol is compassionate, available, extremely knowledgeable and current as well as thorough. While we try to be healthy patients, Dr. Niziol has recommended and his office has set up specialist appointments at times to rule out any negative physical possibilities. We couldn’t be happier and more grateful to have Dr. Niziol as our PCP.

My Appointment was 8;15 Am Dr Niziol gave me 5 Minutes only, when i was leaving his office it was 9;38 . His receptionist say they will call in or fax things then you find out they did nothing . It is frustrating to get stuff done. Dr Niziol use to give more time so you can ask all your questions and concerns not any more.

Ok usually I keep things short but I feel after letting time go by I want to address this problem that has built up the past year and end on a more positive note Great doctor and most of his staff are very professional and polite towards me other than perhaps a couple receptionists. Seem to have caught a rude vibe off of them more than once I've encountered them whether in person or by phone. I understand they work hard and are very busy however... It seems as if it's just me especially when I notice they are super nice to other clients and staff. As if favorites are being picked and it's quite obvious I'm not one. Not saying they are just seems that way. The nurses are always very kind to me especially the male nurse so I can't understand why it's so hard for them to treat everyone the same? I either get these looks of disgust, or an I don't give a you know what attitude in person or over the phone(assuming they know who I am). It's always the slidding door shut immediately in my face, followed by eyes slightly rolled or some odd look after being told rudely to have a seat the doctor will be with you shortly. Like we know you're here to see the doctor but what are you doing here?! Being subliminal can only go so far until someone catches on and believe me it doesn't take more than one time for me to sense a vibe I'm not stupid. Yet when it comes to everyone else it's all kindness and smiles. Thank you and not a problem have a great day l. I treat everyone including the manager with kindness and respect. I'm always polite everytime I deal with them. I can be the kindest of all kindness and yet it's a problem. How does that work?! I expect this type of rude behavior from my local Tops but not at Dr. Niziol's. Not blaming just the recent staff but I've noticed every staff change or so throughout the years there's always one or so that also displayed lack of professionalism. If you don't like your job get a new one but in this particular case they don't like me I guess. It's one thing if it was just an encounter or two after a few I catch notice and it makes me feel more and more uncomfortable everytime. I'm not loosing any sleep over this just hope it could be fixed and def hope it's not a discrimination problem. My suggestion is perhaps brush up on manners and being professional not just towards staff but clients as well and treat them all equally. The Doctor on a positive note is such a great guy. He actually cares about my health and has treated me quite well with many healthier alternatives other than narcotics that most doctors I've dealt with prior to him would just give up on me and result to. That's why I trust him so much. You ask him a question he never beats around the bush and is very professional. Not having to deal with the mean manager directly lately (unless necessary) is the main reason I didn't give this a 3 but 4 instead. That alone for me shows that family medicine has come a long ways despite my initial problem. The nursing staff has def gotten better as far as acting professional and that's how a good business should always be ran.

The Doc is a lovely man and very helpful. The odious overweight cow playing receptionist is a miserable woman in desperate need of exercise, therapy and a hug.... She really was terrible to deal with...

Had me wait on a day when I couldn't so I said I would reschedule. Dropped me as a patient! Sent me a certified mail with a letter dated five weeks before saying that I needed to find a new primary care physician within 30 days! Which means, at 62 this guy has left me without a primary care physician! I was using this guy for a couple years and had no complaints before this! The office staff is unsympathetic to a patients needs.

My experience with Dr. Niziol and his amazing staff at(Family Practice Associates of Dryden) is nearly unexplainable. Their professionalism, compassion and care is top notch !!!! One who is nervous to see a Dr. Has been eliminated by the compassion and extreme moral judgment, has made going to my appointments with Dr. Niziol actually a calming experience, because I have total confidence in their experience, expertise as well as their moral convictions to keep my best interest thier number one priority!

Great family practice! Wonderful staff, PA, and doc. Wouldn't trust the health of my five children with anyone but Dr. Niziol.

I've know Dr Niziol for many years. He's always given me friendly personal care. From my problems with my knew to colds and flu and yes even when my step son - WHO WAS NOT HIS PATIENT AT THE TIME - needed a fast PRIVATE emergency test for a specific STD he was there for us. It was negative!! The staff was friendly and discrete. He is a blessing. How can I sum it up? He's a very competent no non sense guy who knows and understand seniors to kids.

After 30+ years of devoted care to me, I would refer anyone I know to the care of Dr. Michael Niziol. I would put my fate in Dr. Niziol's hands.

The BEST doctor I ever met

I had been rather frustrated with my care and decided to switch doctors. I had bad arthritis and was not able to even get around - yet I am only in my 40's. My doctor did a bunch of labs they were all negative for rhematoid arthritis lupus and lymes. They told me it was degenerative and thta all i could do was take mortin . I was not happy about this so I thought I would get another opinion. Dr. Niziol's office was great . The staff was very friendly and accomadating - it was home like - everyone listened to me the nurse was very pleasant Dr. Nziol was friendly, kind and very knowledgable (I looked on his web site and he received a perfect score in ambulatory medicine during his board recertification) He patiently listend to me - reveiwed my medicines examined me and then gave me a wonderful summaation. He reveiwed all the possibilities and then gave me reasons why he thought one or another could or could not be possible. He then told me that his first choice was a simple side effect from the medication I was taking. He asked me to stop the lipitor and come back in two weeks. In two weeks ,my pain was totally gone I was back to exercising and enjoying life. In 15 minutes he solved a problem that I had for over a year. I will go no where else unless he direct me there. Dr. Nixiol cares about his patients and it shows.

My son was very, very sick and I went to Dr. Niziol office and he went above and beyond to help me with my son. His staff was helpful and very caring for us. Dr. Niziol was patient with me and my son as I had many, many questions he took his time with us and when ever I called he would respond within the day. I would call for appointments around my work and other kids and they would always fit me in. Needless to say m son is back to himself happy and healthy. I can't thank them enough for all they did for him. I also take my 6 year old there who has SPD and same hing he is very calm with him talks to him and my son does not mid to go to the doctors when he knows he is going there. Thank you Dr. Niziol and your staff if there were more doctors like you there would be much more happier people. Also as for waiting I hardly wait long periods and if I do I know its because he is giving another patient the time they need just like he does us. Doctors can't estimate how long each patient is gonna take so he does what he needs to do for each patient. GREAT JOB! I would recommend any one who wants a great doctor who cares to go there.

Dr. Niziol has been a savior to our entire family. He has helped us thru difficult diagnosis and is quite knowlegeable. I have complete faith in him. He knows his medicine and is very pleasant to talk with. I wouldn't consider seeing anyone else.

Dr. Niziol. is good for ER and little medical things. He is nice very quick and you feel rushed. Medical workers Pa,nuse are very arrogant and have big ego's Misunderstanding what you say. They get angry at you because they forgot what you told them (allergy or medication you can not take). If Dr. Nizoil had some new staff I would rate him much higher. Lost the personal touch of care. I can not recommend this place because of the poor communication skills of medical workers.

Knew More than the CardiologistI went to see Dr. Niziol because I was feeling short of breath and could no longer cross country ski like I use to. Dr. Niziol asked me some questions listened to my heart and lungs and within ten minutes said he thought I had a bad heart valve. This all seemd just a little sudden to me. He wanted me to get an echocardiogram and I chose to go to a cardilogist (who is no longer in Cortland). The Cardiologist told me the valve was fine. I went back to Dr. Niziol - he said the Cardiologist was wrong! In his usual common sense analytical manner (in which he relates everything to known mechanical systems - tractors , cars, computers etc ) he explained that I wasnt anemic, I didnt smoke, my lungs were fine and he was hearing a heart murmur. The obvious answer he said was that a heart valve was bad. He asked me to get another opinion. I did. I had the valve replaced the following week at the Cleveland Hear Clininc. I dont know how Dr. Niziol knew more with his stethcospoe and common sense than a cradiologist with an Echocardiogram - but he did and he probably saved my life.He has a great bedside manner and can carry on a conversation about most anything. I am always amazed that he remembers my interests and we discuss tractors and haying and woodworking . Through it all you can see that he really cares about the person that's inside. AS you leave the office and walk down the hallway patients are saying HI or Bye and he is asking them about their lives in intricate details that shows me he really is interested in the daily lives of people and helping them be all they can be.

I had developed some very serious gastrointestinal problems. I was having diarhea all the time lost a lot of weight and had developed severe joint pains to the point where I was unable to leave the house. The doctor I was seeing told me I had irritable bowel and degenerative arthritis. It had become so bad that I no longer used the upstairs of my house as I could not climb the stairs. Frustrated, I decided to try Dr. Niziol. AFter my exam he told me that he suspected I had ulcerative colitis not irritable bowel and explained how the arthritis was part of the disease of ulcerative colitis. I was amazed . I had suffered for nearly a year and in a few minutes Dr. Niziol made the correct diagnosis. He put me on steroids and within one week I was able to climb stairs and leave the house. He arranged for me to see a specialist and now I am on remicaide and doing wonderful. If it wasnt for Dr. Niziol I would probably still be suffering. He gave me my life back! Thanks Doc! Our community is so blessed to have him!

MAYBE he can handle the common cold, but if you have true problems, do NOT use this person!!! he says "I do not believe in any type of disability, physical or mental, EVERYBODY can work", yet didn't hesitate to prescribe drugs for same. refused to fill out required employment paperwork so my relative could return to work. Even returned paper work to employment service when they sent it to him. stated " I do not do that kind of thing". tried to bill my family directly for services he improperly billed insurance; VIOLATED billing laws in the process. Insurance company sent us forms stating he is NOT allowed to bill us; is investigating him. TOTALLY UNETHICAL and UNCARING!!!!!!!
