I have had four hernia operations in last forty-seven years, each with a different surgeon. The first was in 1976 and I was in hospital for five days. The most recent was done by Dr Reinhorn at NWH and from the time I left my house to the time I returned after surgery was less than five hours. I had no pain and did not even take a Tylenol after returning home and the scar is the smallest of the four. Dr Reinhorn is the best.

I recently had bilateral inguinal hernia surgery with Dr. Reinhorn. Everything went exactly as planned, no opioids required and the recovery was straightforward and exactly on the timeline described by Dr. Reinhorn and the Boston Hernia website. I am just a little over a month out of my hernia operation with Dr. Reinhorn, and I cannot say enough great things about him, the staff at Boston Hernia, as well as the medical staff and anesthesiologist at Newton Wellesley Hospital where I had my double hernia repaired. Dr. Reinhorn is not only a phenomenal and gifted surgeon, he is also a gentleman and is compassionate and empathetic. He took the time to answer all of my questions and reassured me that everything should be straightforward. I talked to many friends who had hernia operations at other hospitals with other surgeons, and they all warned me that I would need “at least a week off” from work afterwards and that I would be in excruciating pain. Dr. Reinhard told me that he performs hernia operations in a slightly different way that minimizes the discomfort afterwards- and he was 100% correct! I was actually ready to go back to work the next day, but I took it easy for the next few days anyway since I had already planned on taking the time off. But I had virtually no pain or discomfort at all. Everything has healed beautifully, and Dr. Reinhorn and followed up with me to be sure everything went well. I then went back to all of my other friends and told them that if they ever need another hernia surgery they should drop where they went to previously and go to Dr. Reinhorn instead. Cannot believe I am saying this about a surgery: But it was actually a wonderful experience.

I had inguinal surgery yesterday with Dr Reinhorn. After having a hernia for 10 years, and meeting with Dr Reinhorn in March, I decided it was time for surgery. The procedure went very well, Dr Reinhorn, his staff, and the hospital staff at the surgical center were extremely helpful. Everything was explained to me very clearly. I am less than 24 hours out from surgery and so far I have mild/moderate discomfort which was expected and explained to me beforehand. I am able to use the Tylenol/Motrin to help with the discomfort. I have no need for opioid or anything stronger. I highly recommend Boston Hernia for this type of procedure. No general anesthesia. Local anesthetic with deep sedation allowed me to feel fine after. I had my inguinal hernia procedure six weeks ago with Dr Reinhorn. I had had the hernia for 2 1/2 years so it was pretty large. Everything went well at Newton Wellesley. Their website is informative and answered many questions. My appointment with Lauren and Dr. Fullington was very thorough but personable and reassuring. My wife and I left feeling comfortable and confident that we had made the right decision. Dr Reinhorn performed the surgery at Newton Wellesley Hospital and everything was first class. All the personnel and medical staff were professional and efficient. There was never any "down time" and the entire process was run like a well-drilled team. I checked in at 7:00am and was out by 12:30pm. Prior to the surgery Dr. Reinhorn came by to speak to me and my wife and explained exactly what he was going to do. He answered all our questions and the bilateral hernia surgery was completed without anything unexpected. There was no grogginess or pain. I only took acetaminophen and ibuprofen. Excellent!

I am 78 years old. Dr. Reinhorn recently did my inguinal hernia surgery and I an very pleased with his work and the entire process at Newton Wellesley Hospital. Great Surgeon. Dr Reinhorn is very knowledgeable. He addresses all your concerns and questions. He Is an expert in this area of surgeries and is up-to-date with the latest surgical techniques. I had an inguinal hernia. My surgery had no issues. I had no postop pain and did not need any kind of pain medication. I took all the care doctor provided and was working and driving the first week and resumed my activities in 2 weeks.

Dr Reinhorn and Lauren were great performing my hernia surgery. No one wants surgery but they get an A+. The surgery was done at Boston Out-Patient Surgical Suites. Much better than a hospital. From start to finish it was an excellent experience.

I had put off addressing my hernia for some time, but its progression made it clear I had to do so. Dr. Reinhorn was recommended to me by a colleague who had also been a past patient for an inguinal hernia repair. Dr. Reinhorn was amazing from the beginning--clear, interested, and very knowledgeable about all aspects of the procedure. His staff was also very helpful and friendly. The surgery went extremely well and my recovery has been smooth. At the 3 week mark, I feel no limitations or pain except occasionally at the surgical site (normal). The process was as described it would be. I suffered no discomfort - actually did not need to take any pain meds. I didn't even fill the prescription.

Dr Reinhorn and staff were great. He quickly diagnosed my problem (which had been overlooked by many other doctors) and walked me through the process in a very patient way. On the day of surgery the team was great, the process was easy, and I had my bilateral hernia repair. All went well and I am now 3.5 weeks out and continue to improve. One side had a bit more inflammation than the other and was a little more irritating in the first 7-10 days but all in all it is within the range of what I expected. A couple of days after surgery I did notice that difference in discomfort between the two sides and called the office to be sure it was normal and Dr Reinhorn made time for me within a few hours to have me in the office to confirm all was well and to quell my concerns. Indeed everything was fine, each case can be a bit different, and it just needed time to heal and each day has been better and better. I am now able to do most activities and will start athletic training again in two days. To explain for those that don't know what to expect regarding pain: in the first 3-5 days I did have significant discomfort when moving about but nearly no pain when lying still. Nothing horrible, just what you might expect when you cut open in your abdomen! I stuck with the recommendation to use just ibuprofen and acetominophen and that helped a lot. I have stomach sensitivity to repeated ibuprofen dosing and after about 2 days of constant dosing I had to take a break and that is when the pain started to come on a bit more. However, after a 2 day break from it I dosed ibroprofen here and there and that helped with the inflammation and discomfort for sure. So all things considered it was not bad. After about 10 days there was just some strange sensations when i moved around as things healed but it really has improved every day. I'd say for the first 3-5 days I took it very slow walking but after that it was a lot easier and after 2 weeks there were no problems at all. I really look forward to being active again and now without these hernias it should be a lot better with less pain. 5 stars for Dr Reinhorn and staff!

I saw Dr. Reinhorn for treatment of a pilonidal cyst that would not heal properly after being treated for it elsewhere. After a few months of conservative treatment, we decided the cleft lift surgery would be the best long term option for me. I was very nervous about the surgery and the recovery, but I am about 4 weeks post-op now and I feel great! If you take your recovery seriously and follow Dr. Reinhorn's instructions, you have a very good change of ridding yourself of your pilonidal. I would strongly recommend Dr. Reinhorn and his team to anyone dealing with pilonidal disease.

Under the circumstances I was very pleased with the outcome of my surgery by Dr. Reinhorn. I would definitely recommend him for this type of procedure.
