Dr. Michael Theron Swinyard, MD

Had a great bedside manner and was able to put my teenage daughter at ease when talking with him.

He is very knowledgeable and caring.

Dr Swinyard ran a lengthy series of tests on my daughter-blood work, urine, bone x-ray, pelvic ultrasound, 5 hour growth hormone test and a brain MRI. They were invasive and expensive. She was diagnosed as having growth hormone deficiency. After all of these tests he told us insurance doesn't pay-which he would have known from day one. She has since been diagnosed by another Dr. with Turner Syndrome and hypothyroidism. She will need lifetime care which he completely missed after all those tests.

Dr. Michael Swinyard is the best of the best Pediatric Endocrinologist in the Intermountain West. Our son has been his patient since he was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at age 2yrs. Now 22 years later our son continues to see Dr. Mike. He has shown great interest in every aspect of our son's life. Always encouraging, and educating, making a hard diagnosis seem doable. Dr. Swinyard has a giant heart, you feel like you always have a friend just a phone call away. As parents we would recommend him 110%.

Dr. Swinyard is an amazing doctor. My daughter saw him for 3 years and his staff and the doctor were absolutely wonderful to work with. I don't understand the bad reviews some of the things said don't even sound like him. We always received best bedside manner, prompt,kind and compassionate care from Dr. Swinyard and his staff.

Absolutely awful!!!! First visit was ok. I didn't know if Dr. Swinyard was just having a bad day or if he just normally had bad "bedside manners". Had our first follow up and it was the worst experience I've ever had with a doctor. Called my daughter obese to her face. (she's about 5'6" and 230 lbs.....so yes overweight but she knows that!). Also, when so far as to say that I didn't care enough about my daughter and her medical well-being to "allow" her to continue having problems. I will NEVER, ABSOLUTELY NEVER see him again. And after reading some of the review for his PA - might leave this clinic all together. For the well-being of your child, PLEASE do not see Dr. Swinyard. He only cares about himself - not the patient!!

Dr. Swinyard is temperamental and judgemental. He only listens to what he wants to hear. He had the audacity to make a threat where divorced parents were concerned regarding recommending taking away one parent's rights to visitation with their child! He is very one sided and will not even try to listen to reason or valid concern. Basically what he says goes. I have known two patients who have terminated his care for them, due to some of these reasons. He may present a certain way in the hospital when things are new and he is trying to snag a new patient, but once you get settled in, his true colors shine. This man has no business practicing medicine, especially where children are concerned. He is by far the most insensitive know-it-all in the pediatric medical field. Only a fool would continue to allow his say in the care of their ill child.

Dr. Swinyard and his staff are primarily interested in what is best for them--not what is best for the patient. He is very prideful and tempermental, even with patients like my son who is managing his diabetes well.

After an abdominal ultrasound on my nine month old the radiologist reccomended an immediate mri on her brain and this idiot doctor wants me to wait three weeks for bloodwork. He told me the radiologist was probably trying to just scare me, "that must be the reason my nine month old has the uterus of a twelve year old". How rediculously incompetent

My son was referred to Dr.Swinyards office for a bone test that showed a huge difference of his current age. When I first called the receptionist was not friendly, and I was told the doctor had to look at tests charts to see if he was basically worthy enough to be seen. I called to have see if she had received my pediatric charts that had been faxed to her. Still she was rude and said the doctor was out until next week and after he looked at his charts when he got back then I would get a phone call if he would see him. My husband tried calling back and by 11:30 she was gone and turned off the phones for the day. Apparently she thought the doctor was way so why not play. Anyways I called again when the doctor was in and my pediatric doctor had faxed some files but not enough for the doctor. She let me know that it was not their problem getting the files and since my doctor referred us it was our doctor office duty to get the info. I never got past the cold,rude,inconsiderate… receptionist so I can't tell you about the doctor. Thats why I gave such a low rating. I would never consider calling to see him until he fires her. Sorry!!
