Dr. Michael William Torelli, MD

Just awful, never saw the doctor only a P.A.. Would ONLY give me one month at a time for my scripts. Very concerned about my co-pay and billing. SHANMe on you.

I have never felt the need to write anything about a doctor, but this one is possibly the worst in existence. Prescribes medicine I am allergic to, zero care or attention, doesn't explain anything. I could go on about the staff as well, but suffice to say look elsewhere for your needs.

As long as you do not have Lyme Disease or any other tick-borne infection, then this doctor, or any other mainstream doctor, will do right by you. But if you have Lyme Disease, et al, then forget about being treated with any level of respect, validity, compassion or professionalism. My elderly mother, who is quite ill, went to this doctor for help. She has severe late-stage neuro Lyme, as well as an acute toxoplasmosis infection. He refused to have any part of my mother's illnesses, and refused to admit her to the hospital, even though I left two voicemail messages with his nurse, asking her (more like begging and pleading) to please speak with him about admitting my mother to the hospital. He apparently gave the nurse strict instructions to not return my calls, because my messages were never reciprocated. My mother also saw an infectious disease specialist last week, who refused to treat her for the toxoplasmosis, even though she was visibly quite ill, and her blood tests were… conclusive. Apparently Dr. Torelli engaged in a telephone conversation with the infectious disease specialist this morning, who instructed Dr. Torelli not to treat my mother, because she was suffering from dementia and Alzheimer's Disease, and not late-stage Lyme Disease and toxoplasmosis, even though she tested positive on both accounts. Dr. Torelli dismissed all of my mother's symptoms, including severe exhaustion and fatigue, loss of appetite, significant weight loss in recent months (30 pounds), abdominal pain and discomfort, confusion, nausea, dizziness, speech and cognitive difficulties, balance issues - and attributed them to her "old age." She is constantly spitting up mucus and cannot hold food down. Yet, all of these symptoms, while all in line with acute toxoplasmosis, are being attributed to old age, dementia and Alzheimer's. He took the Hippocratic Oath in medical school to Do No Harm, but I guess this oath was not meant to be inclusive of those with Lyme Disease, as well as Lyme-induced toxoplasmosis. The time has come for there to be a barrage of arrests and prosecution on the federal level of those at the CDC, IDSA, Yale ID, Gary Wormser, and Allen Steere, et al, as well as the majority of infectious disease doctors in this country, for the 40-year span corruption and collusion regarding Lyme Disease, and the manner in which doctors are allowed to continually get away with refusing to acknowledge or treat very sick and dying patients. The public needs to know what doctors have known about Lyme all along: That the disease's Outer Surface Protein Antigen (OspA) causes severe immunosuppression, placing the body in a post-sepsis, pre-cancerous state of immunoparalysis, destroys the germinal layer of the B cells, which allows for the reactivation of cancer-causing viruses like EBV (see CD23 gene expression) and HHV-6, as well as the activation and proliferation of opportunistic infections, like candida, CMV, systemic parasites, and toxoplasmosis. The public also needs to know that the case definition for Lyme disease was deliberately altered in 1994 by Allen Steere, leaving out the antigen band (band 31) that included neurolyme, which resulted in those with neurolyme not testing positive on the Western Blot, leaving millions of sick people without a proper medical diagnosis, and many being termed as crazy or in need of psychiatric attention. To sum it up, this doctor treated my mother like GARBAGE, solely due to her Lyme Disease, and due to her Lyme-induced toxoplasmosis, and basically sent her home to DIE. He outright refused to admit a very sick and obviously dying woman to the hospital, and would not allow his nurse to return my telephone calls. He also listened to a corrupt infectious disease specialist who blatantly denied to my face that Lyme causes severe immunosuppression, and unequivocally stated that Lyme was "easy to treat."

Dr. Torelli is a brilliant physician and diagnostician. He takes time to speak to and listen to his patients. I've been going to Dr. Torelli for many years and have always been happy with the care he's given, but now he's treating me for a somewhat serious condition and I realize just how lucky I am to have him. He truly cares about his patients and if he doesn't have the answer, he'll find it. I know I'm in good hands.

I have been Dr. Torelli'so patient for over 10 years. I am always happy with the time he spends listening to my concerns and his excellent diagnostic skills.

I feel very lucky to have found this Doctor. He truly cares about his patients and so does the rest of his staff. It was a tough health year for me and I couldn't have done it without him. The office gets points for not making me wait more than 10 minutes too and that deserves 10 stars!

Dr. Torelli is a very caring and dedicated doctor. I was recently faced with the prospect of a very frightening prognosis. Dr. Torelli scheduled an appointment for me immediately. He contacted me as soon as each result came in. His reassuring manner and thoroughness are indicative of the consistently high quality of his care.

I have been seeing Dr Torelli for about 10 years now. The staff is always polite, they fit me in without hesitation and the Dr always spends time to talk with me. I highly recommend this practice.

I have always had a great experience when going to see Dr. Torelli. I rarely have to wait and his staff is courteous and helpful when I arrive. He gives me as much time as I need and I never feel rushed.

I have heard many good things about Dr. Torelli and his staff for some years. I used to live and work in the five boroughs, and I kept my PCP in Queens when I moved back out here, and just traveled into Queens when I needed to see him, which was almost never. But he is now retiring, and I am in search of a new doctor. Dr. Torelli was my first choice, but I have been told that his office does not accept my insurance. :( DR. Torelli, pleaee consider accepting Fidelis! :)
