Led by Michael Zeringue, MD, MPH, the Pontchartrain Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Osteoporosis Clinic gives our patients one-on-one access to one of our region’s leading orthopedists. Dr. Zeringue specializes in the detection and management of osteoporosis, the loss of bone density, and the full spectrum of fractures and degenerative conditions that accompany this serious, silent disease. Management of acute pain from an injury, chronic condition, or after orthopedic surgery has changed significantly during the last decade. Formerly a task relegated to residents and ward nurses, pain management is now the primary focus for our team of interventional pain specialists and members of our surgical team. Access to excellent control of pain is not only possible, it should be a primary factor when selecting your physician.
Physical therapy and occupational therapy play crucial roles in providing hands-on rehabilitative therapy for patients who are physically restricted or recovering from surgery. Our physical and occupational therapists take a diverse approach to helping their clients meet new personal goals or return to their usual way of life.
