Dr. Michel Y Benoit, MD

PA examined my broken wrist and said I needed surgery. Dr Benoit said put a cast on it. Went to another doctor for a complex 5 hour surgery that gave me a functioning wrist. Can't imagine how disabled I would be if Benoit had just put a cast on it. He never bothered coming in the room. Just told PA to tell me.

I shudder to think about how my wrists would have survived without Dr. Benoit. He did bi-lateral radial shortening on both of my wrists in 2010. I have full motion and strength in both of my wrist and I have not had any pain since. If you judge a surgeon by his bedside manner you are making a huge mistake; especially if you rate his surgical expertise and outcomes by how much you like him as a person. Frankly, I truly believe I owe my wrists to him. I have an online group that I belong to, and most of the people I have known since my surgery are either in pain or have had several subsequent surgeries including fusion of the wrist. I owe my hands to Dr. Benoit and I take umbrage at anyone who rates him without knowing how skillful he is.

My fondest memory of Dr. Benoit is talking to him about hockey! He is a very personable man and has great Canadian charm! Poutine is one of my favorite foods, and we had a wonderful time sharing our love of cheese and gravy over some fries. My surgery went really well, and I would highly recommend his services to others and I will gladly go back to him again if need be. I may even break my hand just to see him again! He is very professional, and has great respect for all of his colleagues. If there were 5 stars, I would give them! Thanks Doctor B!

This Dr. is extremely unprofessional in dealing with not only his patients but also other Dr's and employees within the office. He was condescending in his discussions with me. He was demeaning with one of the nurses and another employee while I was waiting to have my first consultation and I should have written this up them. The last time I had to see him he treated one of the nurses like a child (pointing his finger in her face and scolding her right in front of other patients and staff). I will NOT be going back to him and he should be fired!!!!
