Dr. Michele Arlene Shermak, MD

Do NOT! I repeat do not EVER use this woman for any medical needs. There’s a reason they say “practicing” medicine. This woman will ruin you and then blame you for her mess ups.

Everything is fine until there is a complication. At that point, dr Shermak becomes defensive and stops thinking about the patient. She reports “she is best in practice” and thinks so much of herself she doesnt refer to others even though its in patient best interest. Major infections that get overlooked. Beyond unethical.

Very professional very caring understanding able to explain everything perfectly so you understand it takes the time necessary to ensure you understand what’s going to happen she explained the procedure excellent her and her staff were nothing but outstanding nothing but excellent !!

Dr Shermak is very skilled, knowledgeable and compassionate . I am very glad that she is my plastic surgeon.

Dr. Shermak was the only surgeon my breast surgeon mentioned. She gave me little information before or after the surgery, and was annoyed when I asked questions. She never discussed the various options for reconstruction, just proceeded with her choice. I was hospitalized for infection, spent months on strong antibiotics and had to see an infectious disease specialist. She rushed through appointments and had NO bedside manner. Mastectomy is traumatic! She never offered an ounce of sympathy and was often rather rough during visits. I realize the infections were not her fault, but she was very annoyed by them and therefore with me. She rushed through appointments. She just promised me “beautiful breasts” when I asked questions. What a relief when I finally switched doctors and found a wonderful plastic surgeon. He had to undo what she had done: remove the tissue expander which was causing infection. She never suggested this. He was honest about the realistic (not beautiful)results I… could expect after reconstruction. So 15 months post mastectomy, I am starting over now with limited options. Dr. Shermak’s interest lies with her cosmetic surgery patients. She is much nicer to them and takes her time with them. I’ve heard her.

Dr. Shermak should be decertified immediately. She performed a breast reduction on me that has left me disfigured for life. The scarring is so bad and painful that even now after 18 months I cannot wear a bra because of the agony. I had to consult another plastic surgeon who begrudgingly admitted something was not right and referred me to a wound center. Dr. Sherman’s answer to this mess she created was to come back for corrective surgery. The thought of letting her cut on me again is inconceivable. FYI legal measures are few concerning plastic surgery. Attorneys told me “the economics” weren’t good i.e. they can’t make enough money. There are too many good plastic surgeons to take a chance with this one. Steer clear. MB

you should see my breast reconstruction from this monster. what a tragic mess. she is forced on you by you cancer surgeon. don,t go here. she does very bad work. i have been suffering for 4 years because of her bad work.

Dr.Shermak is excellent doctor and has excellent bedside manners, she truly cares about her patients.

I had a previous surgery that just did not heal properly. My experience with Dr. Shermak has been nothing short of stellar. I was one of those patients who seemed to have a problem with each step we took. Dr. Shermak answered all my questions either in person, on the phone or via email. She calmed me down and reassured me when I thought there was no hope. Her patience with me was impressive.
