Awesome Dr. and staff. Appointments are easy to get and kept on time. Eye care is priority one and questions are answered along the way to treatment. Surgery was the best part as it was quick and my eye site was improved almost instantly. Glad I have trusted my eye care to Dr. Akler!

GOLDEN HANDS INDEED!! I've been wearing contacts/glasses for 16 years and I thought it was finally time to look into getting LASIK. My doctors in the past have always recommended I go through with it, but I never truly felt comfortable, after all these are my EYES. A friend of mine recommended my husband and I go see Dr. Ackler after doing LASIK with her, and loving his results. My husband did the procedure first, and after I saw what a wonderful impact it had on him, i finally scheduled a consultation. Dr. Ackler and her team are extremely kind and professional. Being a pharmacist and working in the healthcare field, I know how important it is to give the best quality of care to patients, and Dr. Ackler's care exceeded my expectations. She has everything down to a science, her and her team make sure that you are taken care of every step of the way. I am currently typing this 24 hours after my LASIK procedure and I can confidently say Dr. Ackler is the best to ever do it. Putting my trust in Dr. Ackler was the best decision I ever made. I have already recommended her to multiple family members, and I highly recommend her to anyone reading this!

I went to see Dr Akler on a recommendation and I'm so glad I did. Everything is so well explained and done and the surgery was so easy for me to go through as Dr Akler made it that way. I would highly recommend as I'm still blown away by how great I can see after.

Dr. Akler is amazing. My optometrist sent me to her about a month ago. She thoroughly explained the surgery I needed for my cataract and explained different lens options to me. She was patient and I did not feel rushed in making a decision. Yesterday she performed my cataract surgery and it was a painless procedure. I arrived at the Southgate Surgery Center at my appointed time. Everything flowed very smoothly. Dr. Akler performed the surgery. I did not feel a thing during the procedure. Today I went for my post op visit. Everything was great. My vision had improved dramatically and it is only one day after surgery. I have to add that Roxanna who is a technician in the clinic was wonderful for all my pre op questions, measuring my eyes and explaining to me everything I needed to know. I would highly recommend Dr. Akler to anyone needing cataract surgery. She is the best.

Dr. Akler and her team are the absolute BEST of the best! My mother had her LASIK procedure done here 20 years ago, and she STILL has exceptional vision. My sister followed and she, too, swore by Dr. Akler’s practice. My vision was incredibly poor, and I was so desperate to stop wearing uncomfortable contact lenses or glasses that never seemed to fit my face. I had my consultation with Dr. Akler and, within a month, was scheduled for my procedure. Dr. Akler and her staff were extremely friendly and professional, and they made the entire process much more comfortable than I could’ve imagined. I was so anxious at first - the thought of something potentially going wrong or worsening my vision was terrifying. However, Dr. Akler took the time to explain the highly advanced technology behind the laser machine, and reassured me that there was virtually no way for me to screw up the procedure while on the table. After care was very easy as well. The procedure itself was so quick and painless; Dr. Akler explained everything she was doing, what I would feel, and what she expected me to do, so there were absolutely zero surprises. I just left my one-month follow-up appointment and I am so thankful to say that I now have 20/15 vision. If you’re looking for the gift of sight but you’re anxious about LASIK or unsure of who to consult with, call Dr. Akler’s office. This is, by far, the BEST investment I’ve ever made.

Recently had cataract surgery performed by Doctor Michelle Akler at the Southgate Surgery Center. From the initial appointment at the Dearborn office and throughout the whole process, the doctor was sincerely concerned about the issues with my eyes. Dr. Akler performed cataract surgery on both of my eyes. Surgery and recovery were explained in detail and put me at ease. Her staff was supportive and informative. I would highly recommend this practice and Dr. Akler to anyone who is considering this surgery.

Dr. Akler performed my LASIK procedure and I couldn't be happier with the results! I am just over one month post-operation and virtually all of the initial side effects (night halos, eye dryness, light sensitivity) have already disappeared and my vision has been corrected to better than 20/20. She and her office staff communicated very well about what to expect before, during and after the procedure. I felt confident placing my eyesight into their hands and the results have confirmed that confidence was well-placed!

Right away, Dr. Akler made me feel welcome and invited me to ask any questions I might have. She made me feel confident in going forward with my procedures.

We decided to get our son lasik eye surgery for his 21st birthday. We did exhaustive research on the internet and visited three different lasik doctors. After 3 - 4 months of driving my wife and kid crazy we went with Dr. Akler. She was very professional but also very personable. She answered all of our questions and alleviated our concerns about possible complications. We never felt rushed or that she needed to move on to something else. Because of some minor scarring that my son had on his eye she recommended a different method for peeling the cornea. After acceptable post surgery discomfort my son now has 20/15 eyesight without having any complications. It's been over two months now and we couldn't be happier. I only with that there was a procedure to fix my aging eyes. I miss being able to see up close.

Dr. Akler recently treated my father for a cataract. She was very easy for my father to talk to. She was very thorough and explained to my father each step of the process leading up to and after surgery so he knew exactly what was going to happen and when. Not only was Dr. Akler very kind but her office staff in Sterling Heights and the staff at the surgery center took wonderful care of my father. Dr. Akler was recommended to me, and I am ever so grateful for that !! I have had a lot of issues with my left eye, going back over 50 years. Dr. Akler did cataract surgery on me on that eye and couldn't have been any more professional or kind than she was. Dr Akler and Staff took time with me to explain the procedure and do more testing than I have ever had done on my eyes. I felt comfortable with their concern and knowledge. Cataract surgery and laser surgery were set within a week of the final testing. Left eye first and a week later the right eye.
