Dr. Michelle S Yang, MD

I received a thorough eye exam and later, a follow-up. Both visits were scheduled months in advance for 9 or 10 a.m., but when I arrived on time, in both cases the waiting room was filled with over 20 waiting patients. Both times there was a wait of over an hour and a half and I saw the doctor for a very brief time. I called to ask for my records, but was refused by the receptionist. She offered to give me a single sheet of paper with a one lie description of my rather detailed exams. I told her these were not my records. When i went back to ask for my records again in person, there was no one in the office except a receptionist who said they had sent them to my CNP, but I went to their office and they said nothing had been sent. I went again to Yangs office, and they told me she would not send them to me or my CNP because we would be incapable of understanding them. I called back to ask the records to be sent to an eye doctor in Las Cruces and the receptionist said she would do that.… By the next week, the records had not been received by that doctor. Since I see from other reviews that she refused to give patients their records , I think this may be a violation of HIPPA regs and should be reported to insurance companies. She formerly was associated with Gerald Champion, but I was told she is no longer with them, although she is offices in a building with their name on it. Some opticals have refused to make glasses for a friend, saying the do not accept her prescriptions.

I had cataract surgery by Dr. Yang over a year ago. Prior to the surgery I received next to nothing information about what was involved with the surgery, was not given a choice of long or short distance lens, and everything I learned about the procedure and its aftermath I learned by searching the internet. She chose to insert the lens for closeup vision so now my once excellent long distance vision is permanently out of focus. Her office visits are hurried and at least an hour later than your appointment time. I truly regret having chosen her to perform my cataract surgery. I hope this review will save some others from making the same mistake.

I had one o'clock appointment when get office there 14 people head me I Next I ask for copy medical records said Dr. Yang would have to look them 1st that over that took 2 months then next excuse they want me pay $30. for copy of medical Records my wife had to wait 2 and half hours for appointment Dr. Yang not very friendly she in a rush all time hurry to get to next patient

So far no complaints. Had cataract surgery yesterday and it went well......have been seeing Dr. Yang for a couple of years.

We were always happy with Dr.Yang. I took my daughter there for 7 years. We have moved and I am currently trying to get back to her because I'm not happy with the eye doctors here. So I am willing to drive 3 hours to see her.

I am done with Dr. Yang as of today. I waited an hour in the waiting room only to find out that the staff had allowed two patients who came in after me to go ahead of me. When I asked the rather complacent receptionist she said she would check and never got back to me. So I went up to her desk and told her I was leaving and to take me off her list she said ok....and acted like she could have cared less. Very disappointing as this is the second time in this office I have been treated so rudely.

Took all 4 of my kids to get their eyes checked. Three of them needed glasses. When we got their glasses the kids complained that they couldn't see out of them. Went back to the doctor only to be told that the glasses were done wrong. Paid out of pocket for a second opinion for all my kids and sure enough all 3 prescriptions from this doctor was completely wrong. Will never go back and won't recommend her to anybody.

Not only did I wait an hour and a half to be seen for my scheduled appointment, but the office staff messed up my insurance claim and then refused to resubmit the claim. Staff is very rude and insists that it is not their responsibility to submit claims again, when they submitted it wrong in the first place. Dr Yang herself was fine but the office staff makes this doctor's office a poor choice among others in Alamogordo.

My wife took the Prescription given by Dr. Yang and ordered glasses from a local optical store. The glasses blurred her vision and gave her headaches. She returned the glasses several times to the optical store and complained. She was charged for a re-exam by Dr. Yang and given another prescription, different than the previous prescription. We decided to go to another Optometrist and obtained a very different prescription; the optical store replaced my wife's lenses, for free, using the new prescription.Bottom line: Two exams charged by Dr. yang, two prescriptions, and never admitted she made a mistake. Our insurance would not pay for third exam by a different Optometrist because of the number of exams in a short period. At least my wife has usable glasses. Thanks for nothing Dr. Yang
