Dr. Mirna Hajjar, MD

If I could give zero stars, I would. My medical treatment was taken over by this “doctor” after my previous doctor moved. From the start she sent mixed messages - go on disability, stay at work, etc. She refused to help any time I asked for recommendations or documentation from my specialist (her) and told me to work with my primary instead. Then I found out my treatment wasn’t correct and she refused to fix it. Finally she’d been treating me for two issues, both of which she regularly prescribed medication for. Now she refuses to treat one of those things because she didn’t have dedicated follow ups solely for that issue and is pushing me to see a second specialist in her office. The kicker? That issue is listed as one of her specialties. This doctor made me feel like an inconvenience and I felt continuously dismissed by her inconsistencies with my treatment and plan.

Dr. Hajjar took over my case when the previous doctor I had left the area. She has been very helpful in finding solutions to my outstanding issues post strokes. I'm not sure if she is as good as the doctor I saw after my first stroke(s), but is definitely one of the most caring and empathetic doctors I have had work with me. She discussed medication options and made sure I understood risks and benefits and left it to me to decide if I wanted to try medications to alleviate some of my mental challenges.

Visited this Dr in 2016. She sat behind her desk asked me a couple questions and prescribed me a big bottle of pills. Since then I discovered I have and had Vascultis. Won’t be seeing her again. I don’t understand why she gets so many stars

She told me to cut out coffee. I actually have a lesion in my spinal cord! Thank god for Maine medical partners.
