Dr. Mitchell Ian Sorsby, MD

Totally dismissed my hyperthyroid issues and my concerns!

I came to Dr Sorsby, Karla (PA?) & Nicole (Educator) and their wonderful team after an internist refused to do testing to determine my proper diagnosis. They did not question me on testing as my case was clear before testing was done. I alternate between visits with Dr. Sorsby and Karla (both of whom have been patient with me when needed and supported me through this new life journey I'm on) and see Nicole when I need some fine tuning and to learn more about my diagnosis. I occasionally have to wait a little (but most times no more than 5-10 min) but I am okay with that because I know that they are taking the time with someone who really needs it that day, just like they have done with me when needed. They do not push unwanted medications on me, rather help me to work through possible other things to try first and talk through options. We work as a team for the better of my health. I have also entrusted my now adult son (with his buy-in as well) in their care as well.

My primary care doctor referred me to this place but I doubt he realizes how awful they are. It took a month and three phone calls (from me) to even get scheduled. Then I saw Dr. Sorsby and his PA, neither of which would take the time to listen to my symptoms and decide what testing should be done. I told Dr. Sorsby what I suspected and he didn't want to do the blood work because it would 'take too much time'. I overheard him tell his nurse outside the door where I was that they were running behind. He diagnosed me with pre-diabetes which I do not have, and sent me on my way. My doctor had already ruled that and other conditions out which is why he referred me to an Endocrinologist! I now have to go to UT Southwestern and they will do thorough testing to determine what is causing my symptoms and hopefully give a proper diagnoses. What a terrible experience. I felt like an inconvenience instead of a patient. :(

I have been going to Endocrine Asscociates of Plano for about a year. It is very disappointing when you have to adjust from a quality doctor to such a horrible one. The front desk staff are terrible to say the least....the lady is very rude and lifeless. At my first appointment I saw the PA Amanda, she was very sweet.....although I was scheduled with Dr. Sorsby. He came in for 30 seconds at most, and informed me if I did not lower my A1c he would drop me as a patient. He did not inform me of devices that would aid in managing this disease, so that I could lower my A1c. I found them on my own. I have had at least 4 appointments since then, and have yet to see him. It’s been about 9 months and I have lowered my A1c, but it makes me upset that I am not receiving the care that I deserve. I constantly have to call for test results, and they take forever to receive. The front desk staff, NP’s, are so lazy. The ladies at the exit desk are very sweet though. It’s very upsetting as a person… with a serious illness when your doctor is careless. As a health care provider people look to you for your advice, guidance and expertise and I was let down. I wish he was more involved with me, I wish he was more thorough, and I wish I never wasted my time here. This office is terrible and the atmosphere is very draining. I will be getting a new Doctor and turns out I will be dropping him soon. Do better and be better so that you can provide quality care for your patients. From my experience I would not recommend Endocrine Associates of Plano, or Dr Sorsby as a Endocrinologist. Moving on to greater things.

I would not go see Dr.Sorsbsy, find a different endocrine dr. that will take the time to get to know you as his patient and truly care about you. Dr.Sorsby has never truly cared for me as a patient, gotten to know me or taken the time to listen to my concerns or answer questions without raising his voice or even cursing. Yes cursing...he has cussed while in the room with me! I do not advise anyone to see Dr.Sorsby...if you are lucky enough to be graced by his presence after a several hour wait. Most likely you will see the NP. Best advice, go elsewhere!

Dr. Sorsby took the time to make sure I understood what my diagnosis meant and what we had to do to correct my situation. He and his staff made were very helpful and answered all of my questions along the way.

I was referred to Dr. Sorsby when my regular doc found abnormalities in my bloodwork 4 years ago. Dr. Sorsby did a number of tests in a timely manner and found thyroid cancer at an early stage. He checked in with me before and after surgery and during radiation treatment. He has been able to keep my thyroid levels consistent with medication since the surgery. This past year, he discovered cancer again by doing extensive testing and scans. Since the surgery, my levels have been consistent with where they need to be. He is very thorough and follows up on all procedure results in a timely manner. I would highly recommend Dr. Sorsby to family and friends. Great physician!!!

I have been seeing Dr Sorsby for approx 6yrs... he has his ups and downs but over all I enjoy my appointments with him, there has been a lot of change with employees at front desk but his actually nurses have been with him for years, they are both usually very pleasant ladies! More change needs to happen but over all I would definitely recommended this office to my friends and family.

I have been with him for over 5 years and have never been let down. When I goofed off he called me on it and when I do well they let me know. I really think they care about me

Actually listens & is interested in how I actually feel. Best Doc!
