  • Neurology

A neurologist is a physician who diagnoses and treats disorders of the nervous system which is comprised of the brain, spinal cord and nerves. These doctors do not perform surgery, but refer patients to neurological surgeons when they determine that surgical intervention is necessary.
Some of the conditions that neurologists diagnose and treat are epilepsy, aneurysms, hydrocephalus, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, stroke, spinal disc herniation, and spinal disease.
In addition to using diagnostic tests like MRI, CT scans, EEG and EMG, neurologists also employ neurological testing to gauge muscle strength and movement, balance, reflexes, sensation, memory, speech, and other cognitive abilities.

  • Psychiatry

A psychiatrist is a doctor with specific training in the diagnosis and treatment of mental illness.
He or she can not only provide the counseling necessary to both diagnose and treat a patient, but can also prescribe medication when needed. First time I have gone to a psychiatrist, and first visit, I really liked her. She is very kind and I was delighted that she wasn't pushing me on meds. I like knowing that working on a wellness mental state, is what I was hoping for, and what she will help me attain. Good Doc!!

AVOID Dr. Silas at ALL costs!

Incompetent, irresponsible, and lazy. If you weren't depressed, suicidal and anxious before you-- certainly will be after seeing Dr. Silas! This doctor flat out doesn't care... If you need any sort of hospitalization you are completely on your own to figure it out, Dr. Silas is not only clueless, she won't lift a finger to help you out. You are literally on your own to try to figure how to be admitted to a hospital, even if she recommends it. You are better off NOT seeing a doctor at ALL than seeing Dr. Silas!

Never go here. The staff misplaces paper work and insurance info all the time. Dr. Silas has only made my life more stressful. Worst experience with a psychiatrist I've ever had
