When I was in high school, Dr. Cooley gave me a quick IQ test involving blocks. He concluded that my IQ was 119 and that I was autistic because I wasn't smart enough to have Asperger's. He told me I would struggle with abstract thought and concepts of higher math (even though I was in 10th grade, and taking multivariable calculus). I dumped him as a therapist and went on to get a PhD in computer science from Stanford University. I would not recommend Dr. Cooley to anyone to be honest.

Evaluated my 16 year old daughter for a learning disability. Found she didn't have one and problem was motivation. Sensitively explained this to her and challenged her to live up to her potential because she could be very successful

What my husband and I liked about Dr. Cooley is that he explained why he diagnosed our 8 year old son with an anxiety disorder. We thought our son just had normal childhood worries and were interested in how to help him. Dr. Cooley told us about the therapy strategies that research has shown to be effective with these children

Don't quite understand other review. Dr. Cooley is a psychologist. He cannot and does not prescribe medication. He did inform us that studies show that medication is the most effective treatment for ADHD but we talked about many alternative interventions also.

Quick to diagnose children unnecessarily with behavioral problems, especially ADD and related issues. Gets children on drugs for no reason. Is an unethical doctor. Beware!
