Simpson misdiagnosed my situation. I will never go to him, again.

Great surgeon and bedside manner has improved

After visiting Dr. Simpson he told me that I needed a microdiscectomy but I choose not to do it right away so he had me try physical therapy and shots, a year later it was still the same so he talked me into having the microdiscectomy done, I couldn't be happier with the results 8 months later I feel like I got my life back.

Dr Simpson did an excellent job repairing a herniated disc I had that could have had irreversible damage to my spinal cord nerves. He came in on a Saturday morning to do emergency surgery ( I was one of a handful of patients in his career that has had this happen) and a year later am almost completely healed from the cauda equine syndrome. I followed his orders post surgery and continue to do so. He even helped trim down my bill when my insurance company decided they weren't going to pay even a 1/4 of the bill. He is an excellent doctor in my opinion. I'm forever grateful to him

He repaired a botched surgery by another dr. And has always been very caring.

Dr. Simpson performed an L4 L5 fusion for me in 2002 and the procedure was very successful. Over the years I have continued to seek his advice and have always found him to be very caring. He has always been very professional and treated me with dignity and concern for my comfort and long range health when recommending any treatment that was necessary. The staff has always been more than courteous and accommodating and I couldn't say that I've ever had a problem getting an appointment. I would definitely recommend Dr. Simpson.

This is the RUDEST doctor I have EVER visited!! I have been his patient for many years (8 yrs) He has done several "procedures" on me including back and neck surgery. After this much time, one would think that a doctor may actually care about the HEALTH of his patient, that we may be able to discuss whats happening. Dr Simpson simply doesn't care or take the time to pretend to care. I feel I may as well be talking to a wall when describing how I feel because he sure doesn't listen. Anyways, I hope patients stand up for themselves and do not allow themselves to be treated this way by anyone, let alone a HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONAL??!! He won't get any more of my money. His office staff is incompetent, they have a difficult time even getting papers faxed to cover their payment. His ability to take care of patients seems to be the least important to this office.

My first surgery was botched by another doctor. Dr Simpson repaired the damage and I was able to return to work after being off for a year after first surgery.

Dr Simpson performed a cervical spinal fusion on me, and lucky for him, it is nearly impossible to file a medical lawsuit in the state of Wyoming. He failed to remove the end plates of the vertebrae, so that the bone graft could bond and fuse. Not only did he botch my surgery, but he lied on my chart (said I was doing great, no problems--but I complained of moderate chronic pain at every visit, and was in physical therapy for months), he refused my request for a follow-up CT scan (at that time, he did all of his X-rays in his own clinic, and "read" them himself). He stated that I was "drug-seeking" (which was untrue AND unkind), and refused to see me anymore. Four years of chronic pain later, (and thousands of dollars on massage, physical therapy, chiropracty and accupuncture)--a simple X-ray showed absolutely NO fusion had formed, the vertebral end plates were visibly intact, the supporting hardware was bent nearly in half and 3 of the 4 screws holding it to my vertebrae had… broken. I had a revision done by a neurosurgeon, but will probably have chronic pain the rest of my life. PLEASE, DO NOT SEEK CARE FROM THIS DOCTOR. HE WILL RUIN YOUR LIFE. (Oh, and BTW--I do not use narcotics, only Ibuprofen).
