A plastic surgery specialist is a physician with extensive training in the execution of plastic surgery procedures.
Plastic surgery is the use of surgical procedures to rebuild or reshape injured or misshapen body parts. Congenital defects, such as a cleft lip or palate, can be corrected by a plastic surgery specialist. Injuries sustained during auto accidents also may require the services of a plastic surgery specialist. These procedures fall under the category of reconstructive plastic surgery.
The other category of plastic surgery is cosmetic plastic surgery. Plastic surgery specialists often perform procedures like breast augmentation, face lifts, tummy tucks, liposuction, and lip injection as elective surgeries for patients who wish to make aesthetic improvements.

Dr. Banks performed my breast reconstruction surgeries after my mastectomy. She is kind, thoughtful, and caring. She takes time with each patient to address all concerns and questions. With Dr. Banks, you get all the information needed to make the decision that is right for your situation. The results were absolutely amazing and I couldn't be happier to be cancer-free and blessed with the artistry of Dr. Bank's reconstruction. I am confident and feel great post surgery. I am grateful to God for leading me to Dr. Banks and her exceptional staff of professionals. They make you feel like family and give that level of care. Thank you all.
Didn't enjoy her know it all attitude and rudeness. We started off in an argument . She came in and immediately told me my insurance wouldn't pay for my procedures. After working for the company for 17 years I tried to explain there are different policies... Anyway I went to WHC plastic surgeon and had my procedures done and paid in full. Done in a very good hospital with an overnight stay. She wanted to use a surgical center... Wouldn't let her operate on my dog!!!
This is one of the worst doctors I have ever had. Her bedside manner is horrible. She performed reconstructive surgery and messed me up. I'm now having have surgery to correct what she did by a very professional doctor with great bedside manner. He don't mind answering questions and spends time explaining. I would not refer anyone to her. She don't even deserve to one star I gave her.
I had a tummy tuck done by Dr. Nia Banks at the Beaux Arts Institute in Maryland. I consulted with her for two years to impress upon her the importance of the surgery. I had hoped she understood the financial sacrifice to save for the procedure and she reassured me that after having a 10lb baby and emergency C-section, she would make my stomach flat again. I trusted her and it took two years for that to happen. Not only does my belly look the same as it did before the surgery, I can feel the gradual tearing inside my skin. She also did a hernia repair that my insurance company paid for, and when she sewed my skin, she did not do it evenly, so my belly button is off centered. When I complained about it, she didnât apologize, and didnât try to help me. Instead, six months after my tummy tuck, she gave me another belly button surgery to try and move my navel so that it is centered with the line in my body that was there before the surgery, which is interesting since she kept telling me that the line was not off. Then she told that that I would have to wait a year for her to move the stem of my navel over so that the line is even again. The last time I saw her, was after my second belly button surgery and I still had stitches in it and was not healed and she never called to check on me or see if I was okay. She is callous, insensitive, and uncaring about her customers. She is selfish and cruel and is worse than a man because she could not possible be a woman to put another woman through what she did to me. To have suffered this time of financial sacrifice, to trust a medial professional who say she can do something and make promises and does not keep it is devastating. The worst part is, I understand that she is human and people make mistakes, but it truly how you handle things that makes the difference in how your patients react. She behaved as if as long as she got paid, nothing else mattered. That is why for the past year, I have searched and searched for an attorney to help me, and was hesitant to move forward because of shame, and not wanting to deal with drama. But she should not be allowed to keep practicing thinking that what she has done, the behavior and the way she treats people is okay.
Going to this surgeon was a waste. She did very limited work. Cannulas were inserted for liposuction and used in such a way that I needed to consult another surgeon to try to fix the abnormal results she delivered. Anesthesia was poorly used; I woke up in crazy pain numerous times. The office discharged me with improperly fitting garments. Parts of me that were severely bruised had no garment coverage at all. I saw her for one followup, and then when I expressed my concerns about the horrible results, her office then became less and less responsive and attentive. In the process, the office also sent me another patient's pregnancy results through email. This surgeon has very little ethics and in my case, NO sense of responsibility. She got my money, and that is all that matters to her. The office should be forced to close. Any positive feedback on this office is likely her staff leaving fictitious feedback.
