- Hematology & Oncology
- Internal Medicine
An internist is a physician who focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of conditions that affect the adult population—both acute and chronic.
These doctors are often who adults see as their primary physicians because they treat a broad range of illnesses that do not require surgical or specialist interventions. They also work to help a patient maintain optimal health in order to prevent the onset of disease.
In addition to treating the common cold and flu, internists also treat chronic diseases like diabetes and heart disease.

My husband was diagnosed with stage 4 small cell lung cancer, very aggressive cancer. we were recommended to Dr Nse an advised he was one of the best. in the first few visits we felt that he was going to be a great doctor for us, but soon found out differently. not all cancer is the same, and maybe he is good at treating certain kinds. but I would not take his word as the last word. he tried to tell us that my husband was extensive stage, and that he was not able to cure him. after he had a fluid test on the lining of his lung (which turned out to be negative for cancer) but to Dr Nse he couldn't believe this, nor could Dr Megan Dohan the radiologist. so even though we had proof it was negative. they still were only going to treat him as extensive stage. was told quality of life is what they were going to offer 12-18 months. unbelievable he could look at us as if he was not going to try. we got a third opinion at the Cleveland Clinic. there was not enough evidence to prove that it was anywhere else. Dr Nse tried to tell us my husband liver was involved. guess what? it wasn't. Cleveland Clinic went for the cure, doing radiation and chemo same time. today my husband and I found out he is cancer free. We were not given that option and if we had taken what Dr Nse had offered as our only hope. my husband would be looking at dying instead of living. how ever long my husband is cancer free doesn't matter at the moment, what matters is he has been given life to live again! thank God we looked outside the box. please for anyone reading this rather it is Dr Nse or a different doctor, they are not the final word on how you get treated or how you handle your cancer. they should be there to help you, not give up on you. I wouldn't go to a specialist that isn't specialized in the type of cancer you have. Cleveland Clinic is ranked number 8 in the country that is even above the James here in Columbus. Riverside is not ranked. I can say they got the ball rolling for the chemo that was needed. after I pushed and pushed. but that is about all that I can say good. Dr.Nse said he was going to do a hail Mary in the beginning, that is how he told us he was going to treat my husband. unreal. well we caught that hail Mary and thank you, we are now going to live our life.
