I liked this doctor initially. She seemed smart and nice. But like the ending of a movie can ruin the entire movie, the ending of my experience with her left a terrible taste in my mouth. I came in for a routine exam as a new patient. I was told that when my lab results came in, she said she would go over them with me. When my results came in, I was informed by her staff I needed to schedule my follow-up to speak to her about the results. Of course this concerned me, but I made an appointment. The drive to her office is not a short one. It takes me about 25 minutes to get there with normal traffic. But I made the trek over there and was then informed by her staff that I needed to pay my co-pay yet again, even though it was only going to be a short chit-chat. I was not happy with this, but I paid. I was ushered back to a room and the doctor came in, sat down, and said, "Everything came back normal." I looked at her, my jaw practically on the floor, and said, "You couldn't have told me that over the phone? I drive almost an hour to get here and back, wasting my time, gas, and money on another co-pay to be told my results were NORMAL?" I was livid, but stayed calm. She said unapologetically, "Well you could have just gotten the results off the web, but I like to go over them in person in case the patient has any questions." 1. Who is going to have questions about NORMAL results? 2. Why was I never told by either herself OR her staff that I could get the results online? They made the follow-up visit sound mandatory. 3. Clearly they do this just to charge the insurance company for a 2nd appointment It's due to greed and nothing else. Needless to say, I never went back.
Dr. Steinberg was great and acted like she cared about getting you well, but that clearly wasn't the case! She did great and fix part of the problem, but once she was out of ideas she just kept sending me in for the same EXPENSIVE test that she knew would show nothing. Told me that " we'll some women just have to live with unknown pain." So I went to a specialist who Immediately knew my problem and the surgery I needed. Well when my insurance refused to pay for my surgery I asked Dr. Steinberg if she could write me a letter stating I had Endometriosis that would prove my problem and there for I could get my surgery. She said very rudely " I only render my services to my current patents..... and you left us remember?" That showed me how little she cares and how fake and mean she really is. She only had to write a simple letter for a long time patent and I could have had an easier time getting a much needed surgery but since I no longer was paying, she was willing to let me suffer in pain and fight my insurance. At least her nurses are sooooo nice and they apologized to me for what was going on!
I had my ovarian cysts surgically removed by Dr Steinberg. I had never had a surgery before, so I was extremely nervous. She was very calm and friendly, she explained all the details about my surgery beforehand, kindly encouraged me to go through the hard time. It's been two weeks since my surgery, I had my post OP checkup, everything is good and I'm already fully recovered. Her surgical technic is great as well as her personality. The best doctor ever!
