Dr. F Otis Stephen, MD

I had a semi-emergency, I lost a crown. I had received a post card from Dr. Spelman’s office and and since I was new in town I called to see if I could get an appointment. To my surprise Emily said she would fit me in right away since it was an emergency if I could get there right away. I did and I cannot begin to tell you how wonderful everyone in the office was to me and how pleasant, yes pleasant, the entire visit was. Emily treated me as if I was someone who had been coming there for years. Karen, who got me ready for the Dr. Was equally friendly, explaining everything she was doing each step of the way. Shantul then took over and she was very professional and competent. She made sure I was as comfortable as possible throughout the whole process. Since there was a lot of waiting in between steps we were able to talk a bit and she was very friendly. I felt like I was part of a family when I left. Dr. Spelman was extremely painless during the process. He gave the best shots I… have ever had. I hardly felt it at all. He also explained everything as he went along, in English. He was very personable and I felt I got to know a little about the person. It is strange to walk into an office where you know no one and have extensive work done on your mouth as soon as you get there. The whole office made it a pleasurable experience. That does sound strange considering what kind of an experience it was, but they did strive to make sure I was comfortable at all times and that I had no pain. I also had a TV to watch and the chair was extremely comfortable. I guess I got a little wordy, but my experience at Dr. Spelman’s was a 5/5. There was one negative, Dr. Spelman is extremely quiet when he enters the exam room. It’s like he just appears out of nowhere. For my nex visit I am bringing a bell for him to ring as he is coming in. I jump easily. But if that is the worst I can find to say, well then he and his crew is the best.

Received authorization to see him. Instead, was sent to a different doctor not listed on authorization. So never met him. Didn't even get the chance to meet him. The office NEVER answers the phone, much less returns phone calls. Yet they wouldn't have jobs if it weren't for the PATIENTS! Talk about a GOD complex.

He is rude and inconsiderate. Terrible to colleagues. Discriminating. The worst doctor

Over the years, no (and I do mean 'no') doctor could find out what was wrong with me. Dr. Stephen took the necessary time and attention to what my body was actually saying, and where the hidden pain was located, to give an accurate diagnosis. Not only is he very knowledgeable in his field, his bedside manner allowed me to relax, causing me to trust his judgment. I strongly recommend his services and expertise.

Dr Stephen has a great Bedside manner. He listens to me and is very patient. I had seen 3 other specialists before him and none of my previous doctors had been able to make my diagnosis. He is wonderful!
