Padmaja Kandula, MD is the Director of the Comprehensive Epilepsy Center at Weill Cornell Medicine. Additionally, she is also the Director of the Clinical Neurophysiology Fellowship at the Weill Cornell Medical College. She received her medical degree at Northeastern Ohio University College of Medicine in Ohio, followed by a residency in neurology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and two fellowships in Clinical Neurophysiology/Epilepsy and Intraoperative Surgical Monitoring, both at Weill Cornell Medical College. She is certified by The American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and the American Board of Clinical Neurophysiology. Her major area of interest is epilepsy. Within epilepsy, subspecialty areas of interest include epilepsy surgery and presurgical workup, intensive care neurologic monitoring (ICU monitoring), neuro-oncology and epilepsy, and women's issues and epilepsy.

Very, very caring; apparently she was watching me and my seizures in the middle of the night as I was struggling to wake up after my craniotomy, going through many seizures before I regained consciousness. At the first in person appointment I said that I totally didn’t remember her, she just laughed and we moved on. Staff or dr. Kandula responds to messages via mychart instantly, even on Friday at 4:55pm. Would highly recommend.

I met her many years ago in the ER after having a seizure. She always explains things clearly and listens when you don’t agree. She never seems to be in a rush to get you out the door and on to her next patient. I have recommended her to a friend who has a family member that also has seizure condition and was thanked for a doctor that was knowledgeable and listened. I would recommend her to anyone that needs a neurologist.

Dr. Padmaja Kandula is absolutely brilliant. She was so knowledgeable on every single topic my family threw at her. This was my first visit, though could never be my last. I traveled all the way from Florida to see her, and my family joined me for support. We came in scared about my recent diagnosis and unsure about the future. We left feeling immensely more informed. Even with regard to the unknown, we felt safe knowing I have a Dr. Kandula. This woman was born to be a doctor, I really can’t express enough how welcoming, empathetic, communicative, knowledgeable, and committed to the health of her patients she is. I am eternally grateful.

Dr.Kandula is by far the best Dr. I have ever met with ! Dr.Kandula clearly and thoroughly went over my medical records with me and the plan she has to find out the cause of what happened to me when I fell asleep for 35 hours and the loss of my memory . I highly recommend this Dr. to everyone ! She taken her time no rushing to make sure I was given the proper and informative information !
