Dr. Patricia Arlene Shannon, MD

I've been with Dr Shannon for a long time. She doesn't treat what isn't bothering you. She takes the time to listen and then examines and discusses with you what has to be done. She doesn't use language you can't understand. She is a kind and compassionate provider.

The only negative I have is waiting to see the doctor. The wait time can be from 1/2 to an hour which includes once you're put into a exam room. Dr. Shannon is very understanding and the patient does not feel rushed when with her.

My problem is the office staff. If you call about something no one know how to help you.They don't follow through on messages. I think they have gone so paperless that they can't keep up with the needs of their patients.

I waited to be seen for over an hour and a half! During my extended stay in the examination room I had time to see the lap top that was left open with all the patients names and the length of time they had spent waiting. There were at least 15 people before me all waiting over an hour to be seen. The professional thing would have been to contact us to inform us of the wait and either ask us to reschedule or come in at a later hour. This is obviously a doctor who is money hungry and schedules appts 15 minutes apart if not at the same time.

She's a great doctor and will be missed by all in the Fishkill area!
