Dr. Patricia Anne Burford, MD

I have been seeing Dr. Patricia Burford since 2002 for a thyroid condition and subsequently for diabetes and metabolic conditions. She is hands down the most thorough and knowledgable doctor I have ever hand. I am 67 so I have had quite a few. I know she will listen and explain things clearly. More than once I have said I wish she was my PCP because she is so aware of other areas of medicine. I see her biannually and all my monitoring tests are done at her directions - I feel like I have someone I trust watching out for me.

Dr Burford has both an impressive depth of knowledge and breadth of knowledge base. She is an innovative and very logical thinker with a creative ability to see around a problem. She is calm, thoughtful, and manages that simultaneous toughness and compassion of the best physicians. She problem solves so effectively and is flexible and thoughtful in her suggestions. She is a magnificent resource. She has been my doctor for a few years because I got a lucky break in her highly booked scheduling. And therein lies the worst thing I could say about her: she is so well-known and respected that she is almost always booked way out into the future and the times when she can take new patients are rare. If you get to have her as your Endocrinologist, you are very lucky. Put yourself in her hands and you will be safe and well cared for. If you need an Endocrinologist... well, a body can but try, and her office might at least have suggestions for another Endocrinologist.

I believe Dr Burford is a caring and highly intelligent doctor who is extremely dedicated to her patients. More than one physician has expressed to me that she is "definitely the best" after hearing that I am her patient. It is only because she's very organized and thorough that she won't accept random calls (as some reviewers have noted). I will really miss her when I relocate out of Oregon.

Dr not willing to speak to patients outside scheduled appt. Unable to obtain test results from biopsy from this dr. Do not use this dr. She wants your blind trust without explanations.

Patricia Burford, MD, has clearly saved my life in various ways. She is very bright, very dedicated, and enjoys the challenge of solving puzzles. I can recommend Dr. Burford no higher! She is clearly the best at what she does!
