Dr. Patrick Andrew Miller, MD

I have been a patient of Dr. Miller for several years. What distinguishes Dr Miller from all other doctors is his passion and ability to genuinely interact with And care for patients.

Dr. Miller is genuine and personable. Very difficult dealing with his staff when he’s unavailable.

I had been a patient of Dr. Miller for several years. I always felt he took good care of me. Recently he hired a new PA and things went bad from there. I was under his care, he ordered a PICC line for rehydration. This should have been monitored with frequent blood tests. I got none. I called and called, even went into the office but never could talk to him again, even with the PICC still in me. Then I get a certified letter: "no longer be your physician". No explanation. I deserve some type of explanation.

A former ICU and ER nurse I thank God I was never compelled to tell a distressed and crying patient "We all make mistakes. We are only human!" My patients were generally acutely and gravely ill, injured, frightened, often lonely, often homeless. Viewing patients in Dr. Miller's waiting room during the past 15 years room I could see similarities although not so seriously in need. Today I visited NP for a problem for which I left message early last week with no return call. Ten days later I made an appt. My need was originally quite simple and straightforward. I knew the drug I required. I know doctor speak and basically told her what labs and Rx she needed to order. However, I mentioned I became quite ill last night, fainted and hit my head. There was no interest in this event and no questions asked. The NP, vastly pregnant and clearly distracted sent a prescription to my pharmacy. Returned 30 min later with lab orders. Geez The WAITING for EVERYTHING! Always and… excuse never an apology. I was so ill by the time I checked out (2 hours after original early appt.) I was holding on to the counter, nearly fainting again. A patient waiting stated I was "white as a ghost". Arriving at pharmacy I was unable to p/u Rx. as NP Maria failed to completely write the order. Pharmacy had placed call to Miller's office to no avail. I phoned Miller's office after 11:00. NP Maria out for personal reasons. I was transferred finally to Miller's Nurse Lisa. I tried to explain situation while in tears. "You settle down!" she yelled. I felt it important for her to know our drive to Miller's office from our home is 1 1/2 hrs and the pharmacy nearly an hour. I was not physically able to wait or drive home and later return to the pharmacy nearly an hour from home. "We have had problems with you before!" What professional, compassionate nurse makes this remark to any patient especially one clearly distressed? However, I must say Lisa did call the pharmacy. My pharmacy at Walmart in Falcon, as usual, did back flips to write the lengthy dosage instructions. Had NP Maria correctly written the Rx I would have been able to p/u in five minutes on the way home. The time consuming, hateful, mean, nastiness verbalized to me by by Lisa was astonishing. I remained in tears, had difficulty speaking during our entire call. I think of the elderly, sick and fearful patients she must communicate with frequently every day and I am HEARTSICK. Today I found another primary care physician. Dr. Miller is always kind though brief but he needs to fire this horrible woman. Her manner should NEVER be tolerated. Excuses should not be made for errors because staff "is only human". Odd, most people never complain. Another patient without my critical care nursing background or vast experience as an acutely ill and near death long term hospitalizations, would most likely accept this type of treatment from uncaring, doctors and nurses. Elderly people still revere the HOLY medical profession. I will say any compassion is sadly lacking from Dr. Miller's nurse Lisa. She is a major flaw in this practice which I fear is falling into the general complacency of underpaid and poorly motivated category of Medicine! I left another message for NP Maria late this morning. She will not call back, as usual.

I thought Doctor Miller was going to cry on one visit he made to my bedside, after a serious brush with the Grim Reaper put me in the Hospital. I like Dr. Miller because he is a good guy, he does not use guess work while administering care. He knows what tests are required and can explain why you need them. He does not run useless tests, he does not put you through any aggravation not required. He is young enough to be my son he is a caring young man.

I have gone to his office only three times and my personal opinion is I really don't trust or like Dr. Patrick Miller. He is very quick to order expensive tests. My last visit he wanted me to take three different test which I believe the cost was right around $6,000 plus. I found out that same day from a pharmacist that listened to my symptoms that I needed to take over the counter allergy medicine. Three weeks later all my symptoms were 100% gone. They have not returned.... Thank you Mr. Pharmacist! Dr. Miller knew I had allergies but preferred to take the expensive road to treat. He does not listen and is not nice. He is the kind of doctor that reacts before he thinks and i feel one day it could hurt one of his patients. I am currently looking for a new doctor because there are just too many red flags. When you enter into his office my first impression was this is a place someone goes when they are ready to give up on life. Honestly this place scares me and I will never go… back!!!!! I only write this review in hopes that I could potentially save a life with my words. I recommend to stay very far away.... Go to a doctor that cares about you. :)

He is very patient and takes his time with my father. On our first visit we didn't fill out a general health questionaire like at other offices. He conducted a conversational interview with my father asking a lot of followup questions. My dad doesn't like many doctors but he seems excited when we have appointments with Dr Miller.
