Dr. Patrick Norman Bays, DO

I found Dr. Bays to be the best Ortho Doctor I have ever engaged to perform a proceedure on me. I have had many knee and shoulder proceedures done by a variety of different Doctors. Dr. Bays was very well informed, sharing every aspect of the proceedure. I thank Dr. Bays and his staff for their outstanding care and support of me.

I am not the kind of guy that normally writes reviews, but Dr. Bays is the exception to my rule. I hurt both my shoulders working on a construction site. I ride with a motorcycle club and most of us don’t like doctors. That was before I met Dr. Bays. He fixed both my shoulders with surgery, but he didn’t stop there. He worked with my claim’s manager and my vocational rehabilitation counselor and got me retrained as a motorcycle mechanic. He really took an interest in me, and always put my welfare first and foremost. He even arranged to have me see a mental health professional to aid in my recovery when I started to get down. Now, every time I see Dr. Bays, he sets aside an extra 10-15 minutes. Not to talk about my shoulders, but to talk about me and my life. To be honest, he makes me feel better about myself. So much so, that I really look forward to our visits. Dr. Bays is not only a great surgeon, he is a wonderful human being. I couldn’t recommend him highly enough! Five stars… across the board.

I saw Dr. Bays about 15 years ago for an ankle injury and surgery. Coincidently, I saw him at US Healthworks recently after having an on the job injury with my shoulder. I had another orthopedic surgeon tell me I would need surgery but didn't want this. Dr. Bays indicated that surgery wouldn't be necessary and he was right. No surgery and my shoulder is good again.

About two months ago, I injured my right knee on a job site. My employer sent me to our company doctors but getting the MRI scan authorized was a nightmare. I had been on crutches for almost two weeks and my knee was locked in place. Dr. Bays saw me once, and within minutes had diagnosed me with a bucket-handle tear of my lateral meniscus. He immediately got on the phone with my claim’s manager, and within days took me to surgery at UW Medicine Northwest Hospital. The surgery took about 40 minutes and I could straighten my knee the moment I woke from anesthesia. What a difference. He spoke to my wife in the waiting area and showed her all the pictures he had taken in surgery. That night, he called to check on me. He even called after some of my appointments too. I had no idea that doctors called people at home to check on them. It really blew me away that he went the extra mile. Within days, I was back at work doing light duty; and within weeks, I was back to my old job. I am… incredibly grateful that Dr. Bays was my surgeon. I would highly recommend him.

I had a recent knee surgery with Dr. Bays. Suffered with pain for about a year after a boating accident. A bit painful after but now my knee is better than it's every been. Would recommend.

I had an excellent experience with Dr. Bays I am a college athlete and and I was able to get back out on the track and start training again faster then expected. He also had wonderful bedside manner. Thank you

Dr. Bays saw me for my shoulder. I appreciated the level of care and concern he brought to my medical treatment. If needed, I would certainly see him again and also refer friends and family.

Saw him over the past year for a left ankle fracture and I have to say that I am more than impressed. I'm back to climbing and skiing again which is great.
