Dr. Paul David Costas, MD

I am beyond satisfied with my top surgery experience. I got surgery on April 9th, 2025 and every step of the way, Dr. Costas was accommodating (I am plus sized and have had negative experiences with previous surgeons and doctors treating me different because I am a bigger guy), knowledgeable, and had great bedside manner. I was extremely anxious the morning of surgery and he was very calm and made me feel more at ease, I trust Dr. Costas very much. He made me feel as though he genuinely cares about his patients, and he told me himself that he loves treating transgender patients and has been doing so for decades. Not to mention, the results themselves are fantastic. I have gotten nothing but compliments from everyone who has seen my chest. Overall, Dr. Costas is a skilled surgeon with a very professional, yet lighthearted and passionate approach. I feel I was in good hands with him.

I am very pleased with the care I have received from Dr. Costas and his team as well as my results. I had a consult in May with Dr. Costas for masculinizing top surgery and because of a great chance in timing I was able to be scheduled for surgery in September. It has been 3 weeks since surgery and I feel more confident in my body than I ever have. His office team were very clear and prompt in handling my insurance and the hospital staff were all very kind and competent in their care of me as a trans and non-binary patient. Prior to seeing Dr. Costas I had a breast reduction in 2017 by another doctor. I left that experience with results I hated and feeling very distrustful of surgeons. Because of this I was very nervous and particular in choosing my surgeon for this procedure. I felt safe in asking all my questions and that I was in good hands through the entire process. I definitely know I will be referring Dr. Costas to all of my friends and returning for any future procedures.

Dr Costas and his staff are amazing!!! From the first email to Jane requesting a consult to my post operative care they all have been friendly, caring, encouraging and understanding. Being a trans man with size H breasts I have never liked who I saw staring back at me in the mirror but thanks to Dr Costas and his staff I can look at my reflection and see the person I've always known I was. At the consultation Dr Costas took the time to answer all my questions, showed me some images of how I could expect the procedure to turn out and made jokes which did wonders to make me feel more comfortable. They truly care and understand the struggles a trans person faces and does all they can to make sure they are able to be their authentic self. I will forever recommend Dr Costas to anyone I speak to and will always be grateful to him and his staff for allowing me to finally feel comfortable in my own body.

I had top surgery a month ago, this was my first surgery and was one of the best healthcare experiences I have had. Dr. Costas listened and was affirming about what I wanted, and great to work with. The office was very helpful in working with insurance and scheduling. I was very anxious about having top surgery, and am so happy with the results and to be more comfortable in my own body.

Like many transgender people, I've waited years to have chest surgery. Finally, 3 weeks ago, it happened. Dr. Costas and his whole office have been wonderful throughout this whole process. Everything from being gender affirming to fighting with my insurance to understanding what I needed, it's been perfect. Dr. Costas did my son's rhinoplasty and my daughter's breast reduction. Both of them are thrilled with the results. Dr. Costas did an excellent job and is kind and affirming. I called him twice after hours with questions about wound care and he responded immediately and with patience. We found his office staff to be similarly kind and helpful. Definitely recommend.
