Dr. Paul Joseph Montalbano, MD

Dr. Paul Montalbano is a superb neurological surgeon. He performed surgery on me, as well as well as two of my family members. Dr. Montalbano thoroughly evaluates, explains his recommended care plan, answers all questions, and most importantly, he delivers highly successful surgical results or when necessary, refers patients to appropriate healthcare professionals for follow-up care. He is the best!

Dr. M. did surgery on my husband and 2 hours after waking up my husband was walking distances he hadn't walked in years. He is direct and precise. He doesn't waste his time or yours. I can see where people feel he spent no time with them but really he is just cutting through all of the bull and getting to the health issues. I would trust this doctor with my life. Chatting isn't important, medical care is what counts. And the icing on the cake is he got my husband to quit smoking after 35 years and to also quit drinking. He cares about your overall health, what is causing your problems and makes you own your "stuff".

I have seen Dr Montalbano two times for severe back pain. The first time he did an injection which helped for a little over a year. When I called for an appointment because I started to have severe pain, it took forever to see him and he sent me to Physical Therapy. After about 4 weeks of Physical Therapy, which wasn’t helping but causing more pain, the therapist told me to call the Dr. and see if I could get in sooner than the 4 months that my appointment was scheduled for. I was told by Preston that there were no appointments. I asked if I could get on a cancellation list and was told they didn’t have one, that they moved all their patients up if someone cancelled. Preston was very rude and not accommodating at all. I found this to be true every time I called. To leave a patient in severe pain for 4 months is not acceptable. I was to the point that I could hardly walk and by the end of the day I went to bed in tears due to the terrible pain. I was forced to see another Dr.… who has been very accommodating and helped the pain to the point I can function. I cancelled my appointment with Dr. Montalbano and wonder if he moved all his patients up one slot due to that cancellation.

EXCELLENT DOCTOR!

He did a 4 level surgery on me in 2009. I stayed in 24/7 pain for 5 years and was wheelchair pound. I went back several times asking Montalbano for his help but he would not help me. He keep referring me to a pain specialist. I found a surgeon in 2015 that said he could help me. He removed all of Dr Montalbano's Hardware and found a screw logged in a nerve cluster causing most of my pain. PS he threatens patients by phone.

Typical insurance doctor hosing you and insurance for everything you got. He doesn't spend more than a couple minutes each visit even though they make you wait in an exam room for about 30 minutes each time. If you don't need surgery he will not help you. Based off my experience there's no way in the world I'd ever let him operate on me. He lies to insurance and fudges reports.

I had Dr Montalbano perform an ACDF surgery on me. He also treats my degenerative facet joints in my neck/lower back. He is to the point and very respectful and kind. He listens and answers all my questions at each visit. He doesn't just jump into surgery, he tries all the non-surgical options first. His staff is friendly. Preston (front office) is to the point, very efficient, and respectful. He solves any problems/issues very quickly. Preston also returns phone calls right away. I highly recommend Dr Montalbano!

Dr Montabono was the best doctor I have ever had. His staff made me feel like one of there own. They did my back surgery and at first I was scared, but I could not have asked for a better doctor. Highly recommend talking to his staff and choosing him as your surgeon. He has a very extensive background in back and brain surgery. Thank you Paul

He is very straightforward & to the point. Explains what you need to know & expect. Doesn't rush you into surgery without trying alternate treatment. If you need surgery he does an excellent job. If he can't help you he does not hesitate to tell you.

Several doctors had misread my scans and were treating me for something that was not my problem. Dr. Montalbano read my scans and I was on my way to recovery shortly thereafter.
