Dr. Percival Ofrecio Buenaventura, MD

This dr. Has such a GREAT personality!!! He has given me so much hope!!! I THANK HIM so much!!!

Dr. Buenaventura is a horrible excuse for a cardiothoracic surgeon. He removed cancer from my mothers left lung and only took 1 chest x-ray following her surgery and then another one about 10-11 months after. During this time he did not schedule a follow up or order any x-rays to make sure the cancer did not return. About 1 month prior to the 1 year anniversary of her cancer removal on the left lung, it was discovered that she had cancer on the right lung that also spread to her lymphnodes in the center of her chest. We were devastated and facing a stage 4 cancer diagnosis. If he would have ordered more testing earlier, this problem would have been detected and not spread. He refused to place a feeding tube when my mother was severely malnourished and ignored our requests when we noticed that she was having heart and lung issues that resembled congestive heart failure. Once again, he ignored all the signs and would not consult cardiology during admissions. The family felt like we had… to constantly do battle with him and his office. Mom has since passed and we feel like this doctor had a very large responsibility for her passing. Would never recommend him to anyone.

Bedside manner in the toilet. Good surgeon, although makes excuses if your surgery doesn't fit into his schedule and plans. God forbid you need emergency surgery, you will have to fight for it and then hope there is no negative consequences from the nonsensical waiting.

He was my father's lung cancer surgeon and still sees him on an annual basis. In my opinion this doctor is one of the greatest doctors we have ever known or seen. He saved my dad's life. We researched doctors right after my dad's diagnosis and this is the man you want if you get such a diagnosis. we have in fact referred two others to him for care and treatment.
