Dr. Peter James Feuerstein, PsyD

My son went to see Dr. Feuerstein. One of the pieces of paperwork to fill out was a request for my credit card information along with the CCV code. I had an issue with this and didn't fill out that piece of paperwork, as I already paid for my initial visit and didn't feel comfortable documenting my debit card details complete with a CCV code to a business that I had never interacted with. This did not go over well. I had no problem discussing why I was uncomfortable with it, but the staff (including Dr. Feuerstein) quickly escalated it from a discussion to a conflict. Then, after I finally gave them what they wanted so that my son could be seen, Dr. Feuerstein opened the door to us, dryly laughed, and said, "Well, I guess let's do this." Needless to say, my son felt extremely uncomfortable and the visit was anything but productive. After the visit, I had another visit scheduled. I completed all of the initial paperwork about my son, emailed it, asked a question in the email, and… never got a response. I called the number twice, and never got a callback. I called to cancel my appointment so that they wouldn't charge my card (that I finally relented in giving them the details of) and again got voicemail. I left a message, hoping for the best, and finally got a call back. Two days later. It was extremely unprofessional and hopefully a blip in my son's mind. There's already a stigma with mental health, especially with children. I was saddened by how our visit was handled in front of a child, the patient. Dr. Feuerstein disclosed to me during our visit that the reason they get the card information is so that they can charge people who don't show up for their appointments. He said he does this because he doesn't want to pay for a billing service. I strongly feel like this could've been handled better.

Dr. Feuerstein is kind, patient and truly cares about his patients. I am so happy we were referred to him by my daughters primary care doc. She looks forward to appointments with Dr. Feuerstein.

We have seen tremendous progress in our daughter in the 3 months he has seen her. I like how he works with us to develop a game plan for home. I cannot recommend him enough.
