Dr. Peter Jonathan Joson

After being treated for an allergic red eye condition in which Dr. Josen prescribed drops for my eyes and told me he could try to clear up this eye redness. I was told to return in 90 day. Different drops were tried and usually I was told to return in 90 days. I was wondering if he was not monitoring closely because I was a Medicare patient. When I returned, I had full blown Glaucoma. Dr. Josen said this was a side effect resulting from the eye drops he gave me. No one in my family has ever had Glaucoma, nor had I ever had high eye pressure. Now for the rest of my life, I have to live with this condition. A friend of the family who is an LA optometrist said this was total negligence for any Dr. to prescribe these type of eye drops and not routinely monitor the eyes. When I asked for my records, tDr. Joson's office had lost them. Dealing with Glaucoma has been a most stressful and costly event. I would not wish this on anyone, so I can not recommend Dr. Joson. I am a former… patient of Dr. Joson and live in Dana Point, CA. This has been at least 10 years ago, and I have suffered so much with my eyes that my wife suggested I share my story.

I was referred to Dr. Peter Joson at the Tayani Institute. I read up about him and looked forward to meeting him and getting help with my eye issues. My appointment was at the Costa Mesa office. I waited for almost 2 1/2 hours in the waiting room. Yes that's right, 2 1/2 hours!! The front desk staff was quite nice, so my complaint isn't with them. Finally a tech came and got me. Not only did he take down all my information and eye issue concerns, he asked questions about my vision and gave me what seemed to be a through eye exam. He was personable and seemed genuinely interested in my concerns. So, my complaint is definately not with him. He was a better "physician" than the actual "physican". Next, I'm finally lead to a room to meet Dr. Joson. He barely glanced up at me. He sat at a small desk with his laptop in front of him, tap tap tap! When he finally asked me why I was there and I started to talk, he continued to stare at his computer and tap tap tap! I tried to explain how… painful my eyes had become from being so dry and sticking to my lids. I told him I was using eyedrops several times nightly. Tap tap tap. He finally got up, looked into my eyes for maybe a minute and a half, and sat back down. He told me to buy over the counter eyedrops, yes, just like I had already told him I'd been using, and to make another appointment to come back in two months!! Seriously!!! I asked if he would please give me something else to help and was told perhaps after the next appointment. While he's telling me this, he's barely looking at me, still staring down at his darn computer and tap tap tap. There was no way I was going to ever see this guy again. He was rude, thoughtless, didn't give a rip about my eye issues, and only wanted to be done. This arrogant man clearly thinks he can keep you waiting for hours, have his tech do the work, and him just type in a few notes and send you off to schedule another appointment for him to ignore you again. Shame on you Dr. Joson! Seriously! I expected and deserved better. OH...and I NEVER RECEIVED THE REPORT I asked be sent to me. Thanks again!!

If you have glucoma, Dr. Joson is the doctor to go to. Because my opthomologist was having a hard time controlling my eye pressure, he referred me to Dr. Joson. He is up to date with all new procedures and saved my eye from further damage using a new surgery technique.

Receptionist can easily cause a patient to go somewhere else.

Dr. Joson is good glaucoma specialist. He has done glaucoma surgery and cataract surgery on me. he's very interested in my case. He treats me as unique patient, that is intelligent and understands Glaucoma as well as he does. He loves his job. He makes times for patients takes there other medical problems seriously. He is professional, direct to the point and treats you professionally. Answers questions. Is Young but very knowledgeable. Treats people with respect and is very polite. Nurses enjoy working with him.

Dr. Joson is personable and direct. He tells you what he has found and lets you know the best procedure for you and your eyes. He is a professional and treats you like one as well.

I like Dr. Joson and new location near Laguna Hill malls is better location and better staff. Staff at Mission Viejo location needs better trainings. Plus you have to pay parking, so I prefer the Laguna Hill location.

Took care to have read my medical history . Gave thorough exam and clearly explained findings, game plan for further diagnostics and treatment, potential outcomes, etc. Seems throughly competent, professional especially in diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma.

Too many patients and a definite lack of respect for the patients time. Poorly trained reception staff. A beginner waitress knows to address a longer than normal wait by a client.Instead, after being told that the Dr. was running on time, a 30 minute wait in the reception room prior to a 15 to 20 minute wait in the waiting room was never acknowledged. As though you were lucky to be a patient. Then a curt, smart mouthed dark haired office person stating "you can come back now unless you'd rather leave". If a Dr. can't train his staff to respect my time, I clearly don't need his !!!!

This doctor was highly recommended. He was very intelligent and answered all the questions & concerns I had.I was really impressed by his assistant the young ladie was very knowledgeable and helpful.I had a great overall experience there at that office and would recommend to all friends and family.
