Dr. Peter Barry Karzmark, PhD

I agree w/ the 2018 review. I came to Dr. Karzmark in 2011.I was in my 30's & trying to determine if I had ADD, and I may need accommodations for the Law School Admission Test (LSAT). Dr. Karzmark was cold and did not listen to me during our interview. I vividly remember us sitting in a dim room, where he frowned entire time. When he asked me how I did in school, I told him I had earned all A's in grade-school, high school, and college, but he did not listen and repeated that "because I had trouble in school", it would be interesting to see my test results. I corrected him and said I graduated w honors in college and did excellent in grade school and high school, but he had already concluded what he wanted and insisted later I had earned poor grades in school. On the day of my testing, he used antiquated tests on me, and added tests which he did not get my permission for, in advance, to test for learning disabilities. He used a tape recorder for one test, but failed to give me clear… instructions before the test. Later, he had me come in for a second meeting and coldly told me "if he was my father, he would tell me never to attempt grad school and that I would not succeed". He repeated in our 2nd/final meeting that my test results lined up w the fact that I "did poorly in school", which was false. He underscored that I should never attempt law school. I ended up getting into an ABA approved school, receiving the highest grade in legal writing, and winning several writing awards. When I passed the CA bar exam for lawyers (which had a 37% pass rate), I sent him a letter, telling him how he treated me very negligently and should never stamp labels on people and predict what they can/cannot do. I told him about my success and that despite his grim (erroneous) predictions, I had achieved exactly what he said I could not do. Of course, I never heard from him- no apology. But, I didn't need one. I am not a successful civil rights attorney of 13 years. I'm glad I disregarded his terrible advice.

Dr. Peter Karzmark is very cold; his practice is antiquated (e.g. using cassette tapes with his recorded instructions). Moreover, he is full of himself mentioning “Stanford” constantly. Finally, The accuracy of his reports are suspect.
