Dr. Peter Dennis Scholl, MD

I saw Dr. Scholl after being referred to an ENT by a dentist. He ultimately decided that he needed to remove some lymp nodes from my neck to see if it was cancerous. He did not explain that he would be REMOVING lymph nodes, nor did he explain to me the risk - saying only that it would "set me back two or three days." I understood that this was a minimally invasive biopsy and that I would recover. But, I now (one year later) have chronic pain and swelling in my neck and jaw as a result of this surgery, and it hurts to smile, turn my head, and chew. I regret having ever met him. He should have been far more forthcoming regarding both the specifics of the procedure and the risks or permanent injury. I hope no one else experiences this - as it's depressing, painful, expensive, traumatic, and unnecessary - and the only recourse I seem to have is to relate my experience here. This man is a menace. If you go to him - he will cut you - whether it's necessary or not. Beware.

Dr. Scholl is one of the kindest, most considerate doctors I have ever gone to for any procedure. In 2006 he operated on me to remove my thyroid. He called two days later to let me know that I did have cancer "but not a life threatening" condition. He spoke to me for a few minutes and then said.."I know after you heard the word CA you never heard another word I said, but I am on call all weekend so please feel free to call me with any questions." Seriously? What a kind man. I have continued with Dr. Scholl for 13 years and have referred my friends. Besides checking my thyroid (and NO scar), He also treats me for Meniere's and he personally called to tell me the results and what I could do for the symptoms. I'm so glad he is my doctor.

Dr. Scholl is a rare combination of dedicated clinician, serious scientist, and compassionate caregiver. The office was very busy, but he spent lots of time with me during initial exam and again in the follow-up; and was not-a-bit rushed. His examination was comprehensive, his diagnosis was quick (and right on the money, as confirmed by CT), and he also has a great bedside manner and sense of humor. He called me personally at the end of his workday to discuss my results and treatment options, and I was especially appreciative that he presented information in a relatively sophisticated manner, i.e., he treated me as a smart and educated patient and did not try to "dumb it down" as some doctors will do. All around great experience.

I was treated by Dr. Scholl for several years. Scheduling an appointment was always easy. Dr. Scholl called me on several occasions to check on me. I have only had two other Doctors do that. He is a great Dr. Scholl is a Doctor who cares. I would not hesitate recommend Dr. Scholl.

1) His clothes were filthy. Looked homeless. He definitely did not look like a Doctor should look. 2)He does not give you a chance to speak. He does not listen. He sprayed awful spray in my nose with no warning and never explained what he was doing until his nurse came in and explained the procedure to me. I will not be returning.

MY SON HAD A MASS ON HIS NECK THAT APPEARED OVERNIGHT. AS YOU CAN IMAGINE AS A MOM SEEING THIS ON YOUR BABY I PANICKED. I AM AN OFFICE MANAGER FOR A PHYSICIAN GROUP AND THE PHYSICIANS I WORK FOR ALL SAID SCHOLL IS THE BEST. WE GOT SEEN FAIRLY QUICKLY AND HAD SURGERY QUICKLY AFTER THAT. DR SCHOLL CALLED US DAILY TO CHECK ON MY SON. HE IS ABSOLUTELY A WONDERFUL DOCTOR AND HUMAN BEING. WOULD REFER BACK TO HIM IN A HEARTBEAT.

Dr. Scholl is a great doctor. I had seen several ENT's in Austin and all gave me the wrong diagnosis. It took a third pair of eyes to give me the correct diagnosis and treatment. Dr. Scholl was the man for the job and he is great with people. Excellent medical care and a true professional. If you want to see the best, see Dr. Scholl. He even took the time to call me well after my treatment had stopped and I was well again.

I had a very positive experience with Dr. Scholl as my surgeon for a thyroidectomy due to thyroid cancer. Surgery recovery was quick (I was able to return to work after a week and return to dance practice after a about a month), minimal surgical pain, quickly scheduled appointment, clear explanation of procedures, no long term damage to my parathyroids, and my voice seems well on its way to recovery. I would recommend him as a surgeon.

Stage four tongue cancer he still has time for me and I hope still cares would tell anybody who needs an ent he is the only. One they need most doc s do not caRe as much

Dr. Scholl was quite nice and highly recommended. HOwever, we waited with our 16-month-old for almost an hour for the appointment. By the time we saw Dr. Scholl we had exhausted my son's "happy" time. I think they should make a point to schedule small children first thing in the morning so there is not such a long wait. We have another appt. so we'll see how it goes. In terms of tubes/knowledge/surgery success, Dr. Scholl is very good.
